Parker, playing alongside Luka Modric in central midfield, had Redknapp purring with appreciation and anticipation. "When I get Sandro back with Scott Parker in the middle of the park, we're going to be very strong," he said. "Luka can play elsewhere, he can play differently but you'd have two very strong midfield players there that would make us very difficult to beat."
So what does that mean for team shape? Will he play Sandro and Parker holding, Modric on left, VDV in centre and Bale on the right in a sort of 4-2-3-1 formation?
Redknapp plans to play Sandro with Parker

Would you be happy with VDV on the right though. As creative as he is, he doesnt seem to do a lot of the getting stuck in part, isnt that best left for a central player? Especially with a young player like walker at rb??

VDV isnt even that creative. His passing is nothing compared to the likes of Xavi, Iniesta, Fabregas, Sneijder, Scholes in his day, Ozil etc.
Hes more of a goal scoring midfielder or a second striker.

I'd be happy seeing Lennon come on as a substitute towards the end for a few matches. I'm not sure he's warranted a starting place, and his fresh legs and pace would be ideal against tired defenders. We already have speedy Walker who likes to get forward. It seems right on many levels .

Well, this is the best news I've heard in a while - 'Arry finally admiting that Luka is not a natural CM.
I'm not too bothered by the "when all are fit, who plays where" arguments, largely because I can't remember the last time all were fit. Other teams have made 4-3-3 successful, we could do the same and keep Modric in the middle three, or even in the front three.
The key with Parker and Sandro is that they are quick enough to get forward in support AND get back when a move breaks down. Modric isn't.

I don't think Bale is effective on the right, although at the moment I don't think he's that effective on the left either. I love Bale as much as the next fan, but I think he's been just as off form as Lennon, for some time now but he seems to still be living off those few games where he was unplayable.
I think we need players to know they're not untouchable, hopefully it'll "spur" Aaron on but also I think if Bale continues to not add much then he should be dropped for a game too to give him a kick up the backside.

Why ??
Are we playing Barca away, defending a one goal overall lead, have 25 mins to go, and Messi/Iniesta have just swallowed a bag load of E ??

messia :
I mean, really.
Other than an injury plague on the creative MF, what opponent requires that kind of MF setup ??
Sandro is class, but Parker is more of a scrapper. The former IMHO for the Man Utds, the latter for the Wolves.
Horses for courses.
