The rest of my family as well as most of you have had enough of Marhez and say he needs dropping.
But all good teams have a luxury player that can turn a game its not his fault everyones injured and this whole season has been a disaster for him for many reasons.
He's a confidence player and needs confidence maybe he's had enough of how poor we have been.
But he would still be the second name on the team sheet after Ron sorry Kasper
As usual in on my own it seems

Mahrez first name on teamsheet for me Nev.
The nearest thing we have to a worldclass player and my favourite ever Leicester player

Mahrez has been poor most of season, yes he may have been tightly marked, but his performances and effort have been poor.Bit of a non season for him.
He has had a couple of great years with us, but sadly it is now time for him to go.

Its not just about having Mahrez in the team.
He is a game changer yes, but we have to make allowances for him. Some times we have to defend in depth. He rarely does that in a manner which promotes a strong challenge. He would sooner avoid a strong challenge.
So our midfield or Simpson compensate.
Our midfield Thursday were trying to protect the centre backs which left Spurs more room to attack, Mahrez didn't make up the numbers and it all fell apart.
Funny thing is I cant remember any player moaning at him for not pulling his weight. I wonder why that is.

Look at him its like asking Muzzi to tackle back. Hes the best player we have ever had and we want him to be something his not. You need to build a team around him like Chesea has done with Hazrd this season no surpirse with Kante there as well.
As for looking moody etc he looks the same way whether we win or lose he's shy and dont prone to emotional outbursts
As for Grey he will get his turn but he has to wait

I agree with your family.
There's no doubting that Mahrez, on his day, is a quality player and a game changer. He played a massive part of our success last season and that shouldn't be forgotten. But this season he has been very, very poor. At times he has been the worst player on the pitch. And sometimes he just doesn't look interested. So yes, it's time for us to let him go.
Regarding Gray, I don't know how anyone can expect Gray to look like the 'finished article' when he's not getting a chance in the first team? No player ever became the finished article by playing 15 minutes. Give him half a season in the first team in Mahrez's place, a place that Mahrez has seldom deserved this season, and let's see how he does. If by January he hasn't progressed as a player and is still not showing he can make it at this level, then we can re-evaluate.

I actually agree with Nev to some extent about asking Mahrez to be the tackling midfielder. It should be other players who provide the platform for players like Mahrez to flourish, although he does have to work hard and take some responsibility. I wouldn't draw any conclusions from the Spurs game with a makeshift defence and midfield against, on current form, the best team in the country.
On the Gray debate I guess it depends where the mentality of the club is going to be in the future. Saying Gray isn't the finished article is another way of saying he's currently not good enough. Would the big six clubs have him in their first team "to see how he does"? I don't think so! He'd be playing cup games, the occasional cameo or even out on loan. We will probably have failed in our recruitment in the summer if he's first choice next season - but that's depending on where we see ourselves as a club. He might be ok if we intend to struggle in mid table, but if we have ambitions for Europe then he needs significant improvement.

Bit harsh Joby - I agree Gray isn't good enough today but neither was Vardy or Mahrez once.
I think Gray "could" step up given time as he has undoubted talent, but he needs to recognise he's not as good as he thinks he is to do that.

Not sure why it's harsh Mersey when you've stated exactly what I think.
For me the club are using him in the right way. The odd start with, more often, a cameo role late in games. He could step up in time as he's got undoubted talent.
However, if people think he can step in for Mahrez and is ready to be our first choice next season then I would have to respectfully disagree. The trouble is that I think that he believes he is ready and may well sulk if he doesn't get the opportunity. I want to keep him, but think he needs to work on his decision making and impact in the final 3rd of the pitch.
He wouldn't regularly get into any of the starting elevens of the best PL teams on a regular basis - so he shouldn't be in ours. If he does end up as our first choice next season then, for me, it might well be a reflection on how well we've recruited if Mahrez has moved on. He may well come good (that's a real possibility), but he'd be learning on the job and it would be a big leap from where he is now.

I would like Kasper and Mahrez to pay for us next season.
