The Tangerine Pound

Will we have to go another season without it?!?

Currently 1-0 to Hamilton.

No idea just think they deserve it

Depressing result in terms of the overall SPFL next season. Was hoping that Utd, a club that actually has some fans, would come up ... in spite of them being pretty mince (sorry, Ivan).

The play-off system massively favours the 2nd bottom top flight team though ... needs to be changed IMO. Why doesn't 2nd bottom have to play the 4th team in the Championship over 2 legs, with 2nd & 3rd in the Champ doing the same? Then the winners play-off for SPFL spot? Seems far fairer ... and that's what happens in the lower tiers, isn't it?

Nothing against Hamilton BTW ... just don't see what a club with nae fans and a cr@p plastic pitch is adding to the top flight.

Part of it is definitely that the Premiership is set up for self preservation but also it has more matches than the championship so would give championship sides opportunity to rest up whilst premiership season is closing out and the pendulum of favour would swing a bit to the championship sides.

Personally I would have second bottom automatically relegated and the playoffs be exclusive to championship sides.

How about 2nd bottom v 2nd top as it used to be?

I really believe that two automatic relegation spots would be better. But something needs to be done so that the Premiership side isn't favourite before the opposition is even decided.

But the playoffs are so much better than the one up one down for excitement.

The 2nd bottom Premiership team is favourite because they are likely better than the 2nd, 3rd or 4th best Championship team. In normal seasons, the bottom Premiership team is on a par with the top Championship team. Just in recent years there's been some big teams down there.

An average season would see a St Mirren or Hamilton top the championship and a Falkirk or Partick finish bottom of the Premiership. Or any combination. None of this Rangers, Hibs, Hearts nonsense in the Championship. More actual championship level clubs like Dundee Utd.

I quite like the format, although fully accept that it's heavily weighted in favour of the Premiership team.

I'd say the play-offs are fine. The only way to make it fairer is to retroactively replace the third best team in the Premiership with the third best team in the Championship.

Other than that, no issues.

I think it's fine as is

The league is to small for anything else

And teams who want up need to beat one already there

16 or 18 team league would be perfect. Just awkward number for fixtures.
