Amazed to hear that a country with such a long and illustrious cycling history had never produced a Giro winner though.

Indeed, what a story would it have been if he had missed the pink shirt because of a shiiit.

Yeah, a bit odd, that. It's a pretty regular occurrence in road racing, you don't just dismount for a crap with the GC at stake. Not even sure why all the palaver in the UK over his rivals taking advantage to attack.

I am sure in time the story as to why will emerge. Tom will say something about it when being asked at some point.
