Good thing Mertens is Belgian then.

From a United fans perspective I often feel you lack any real spark when Hazard is missing or isn't at it.

But Veratti doesn't fit Conte's ideal CM...someone who can destroy with no creativity required.

erm, no that is Mourinho's idea of a cm. You know, somelike like Fellaini ?

Conte wants his midfielders to work hard rather than destroy, He like all round midfielders who can destroy and create. Would you call Marchisio, Pirlo and Vidal destroyers? They're anything but. Verratti would fit our system perfectly.

I feel like Zoumas time is up at Chelsea, clearly by username I rate the lad highly but I'm not so sure Conte does, He's just not got the technical ability that Azpi and Luiz have to play in a 3 at the back system.

If Matic can continue his end of season form then he'll be useful for us with us having 50+ games next season. He's not the man to elevate us to be genuine CL competitors; Someone like Verratti would however be that man (hence my article yesterday)

My gut feeling is that we won't sign Van Dijk.
