That's all it took to review a contentious penalty decision in the U 20s World Cup final.
The game was already stopped as the ref had already awarded it. Ref proved right.
But the FA would sooner wait till Monday morning.
Good game , credit to both sides

Ref got it right in about 3 seconds.

The video ref would prove beneficial to the game.

Not all decisions were made as quickly though. In Englands opener there was an elbow that the ref missed, the game continued and the player who did the elbow was involved. Then the ref had a long look at various replays before making a decision.
In another game there was a potential stamp. The ref didn't give it but chose to review it. Watched it multiple times and still couldn't decide if there was an intentional incident. After quite a long delay he decided to stick with his original decision - but looked very unsure of himself.
Then there was the Italy quarter final:

Yeah, he can also get it wrong and those three seconds can destroy a match, a season, a managers career. 35 seconds more and we get it right.
You also didn't factor in the time it takes to argue after the three seconds, the surrounding the referee etc

ManU would have to drop their "surrounding the ref" practice from training.

Actually think that's a brave call to make, and it doesn't look all that wrong played viewed at normal speed from the original angle. Slow motion replay in this case confuses more than clarifies.
Any idea how many angles the VAR ref had?
As an aside, I'd expect the system to take a bit of getting used to and for it to produce some errors that detractors will be quick to jump on, but on what I've seen overall so far I reckon it's going to prove worthwhile.

It wasn't a penalty, the defender clearly got the ball.

But in doing so took the attacker's knee with his own. Penalty all day long.

But he got the ball first. Video ref still facked it up.
