Also when did Rooney have terrible seasons for us when he was young? That's complete ballacks. Rooney's terrible seasons for us came when he was older. He never had a terrible one when he was younger.

More evidence of Nohlman being completely clueless about the club he claims to support.

Given the quality and quantity of the attacking talent France have at their disposal, even a Martial in top form would struggle to get into their squad let alone an out of form one.

Unfortunately for Martial, the French now have two new wonderkids that pique their interest more than Martial does. In Dembele and in particular, Mbappe, Martial will have an uphill battle to win any popularity contests in France in the coming years.

Martial will wish he was Welbeck by the time Jose is done with him

Didn't have a bad season for us till about the Age of 25. His best years were when he was younger.

People write players off so easily. He had a poor season, but we've seen what he can do when he's on form. He was skinning players for fun last season, just like Mbappe and Dembele are this season.

If one or both of those two have a poor season next season they'll probably be regarded as poor as well, the life of a football player/fan

Martial's biggest issue is lack of movement in behind. He always wants to get behind the play with the ball to feet rather than behind the defence. Mbappe has movement in spades. On the ball, they aren't much different.

Haven't seen much of Mbappe but the rest of this is so true.

The frustrating thing is it isn't as if it's a difficult aspect of his game to work on. He just doesn't seem bothered and as a result hasn't progressed at all in 2 years.

He still has the potential to be an absolute world beater but he needs to pull his finger out fast. And people need to stop blaming Jose for Martial's faults.

Not sure where this view that he has the potantial to be one of the best in the world comes from tbh.

He seems quite one dimensinal to me. Picks the ball up, runs at defenders and tries to place his shots.

Not seen much in the way of creativity, playmaking abiltiy, lethal finishing etc. to suggest he could become world class
