This is a True Super Fight between two of the greatest fighters of their generation, in their Prime, both in the Top 5 P4P list.
The rematch is this weekend after Ward edged a controversial fight fight, Kovalev exercised his rematch clause, which made Ward take the fight or retire.
In the first fight Kovalev came out storming, keeping Ward at range with the jab and putting him down in the 2nd round even though the punch wasn't the cleanest.
Ward came back into the fight, closed the distance and avoided getting caught big again, but many observers had Kovalev winning.
They have had 7 months to re-group and plan, so I don't expect them to come in with the same plans. Kovalev felt he over trained in the last bout, and will look to be far more active on the inside, cut off the ring better and keep that work rate up for 12 rounds.
Ward will feel he adapted in the 2nd half of the fight, will look to keep that distance close when in range, use his footwork to circle the ring, and go to the body, hoping to tire Kovalev out again, draining his power.
People seem to forget Kovalev out boxed Ward early on, he landed more punches in the fight, this simply isn't a fight between a slugger and a boxer.
But whatever happens this is a fight for the purist, real boxing fans to appreciate the skill, power, disciple and tactical know how of these elite boxers
I personally think Kovalev will take the rematch, stopping Ward late on but it will be tough, and Ward could make it to the scorecards again.

Beterbiev is very good but I don't think he's as skilled as Bivol and Gvozdyk. He's definitely the biggest puncher and best on the inside, but I think he can be tamed from the outside. He's somebody Ward would have to stay on the outside against.
I think Beterbiev beat Gvozdyk twice in the ams, once by stoppage, but that was a long time ago. Gvozdyk doesn't take a very good punch from what I've seen, so Beterbiev could stop him again if he can close the gap, but Gvozdyk is extremely accurate and sharp with that right hand, if Beterbiev gets reckless he's hitting the floor.
These guys are all monsters though, I would like to see any of them fight Dre, Kova or Stevenson.

Politics might get in the way of that, but I would love to see it. I'm not sure if Ward agreed an extension to his HBO contract as a part of this Kova rematch deal, cos I can't see Stevenson coming over to HBO for the fight.
Ward, Gvozdyk, Kova are on the HBO side, Bivol, Beterbiev and Stevenson are with Showtime/PBC, so we can still get some great fights.
