Fire victims!!!

There should be instant help for these people who were lucky to leave that tower block with their lives. The newly elected government must be there to provide any aid and as much as is needed to relocate and house these people and help get their lives on track. How often we are so quick to help for crisis all over the world. If our government is there to support their own people then what is the bloody point.

So rather than sending more drones to Syria give it a rest for a few weeks and help those who need it.

The number of dead will surely pass the 100 mark. This is corporate manslaughter and I hope someone is found guilty of this but I doubt they will find anyone guilty. A lot of guff will be released about learning lessons etc and it'll be forgotten

Aye, lip service, it's what we do best in this country...

Watching the news the last few days and it's clear the plastic cladding on the outside of the building combined with the lack of sprinkler systems and escape routes added to the fire and loss of lives.

Cost cutting measures in one of the most affluent areas in Europe and resident's prior complaints falling on deaf ears and this is the result.

An absolute disgrace.

Cladding £2.6M. Sprinkler system £138k. Overall cost of refurb £8-£10M. Cheapskates and it's cost so many lives

Didn't see that Bobbs

They're not releasing the true number of dead. Presumably they want to inform their next of kin first but they can't even identify the bodies so it puts them in a difficult position.

People have seen plenty of bodybags from the window of a train which passes the building apparently.

To the best of my knowledge, funny how it was mostly the local community that acted so quickly and were the ones who donated so many items to the victims. Where was the help from the council, government, celebrities, famous people? (Correct me if I'm wrong)

As usual, they don't care because it's just the 'ordinary' people who were affected, and I won't even go onto the subject of what kind of people most of the victims are. I just hope they can find a way to get through this devastation.

I don't understand the resistance to housing some of the victims in the empty homes in the area.

There are houses in Kensington that's sole purpose right now is holding suspect funds, that's it - not even as a standard investment... they're a bank for money so dodgy not even an offshore account would house it.

Surely there's no good reason not to use them in a crisis like this?

She says that it should be a public inquest not a public enquiry but Theresa May has already said there will be an enquiry. My understand is that the enquiry is more controlled by the govt?

Metro, Did Hillsborough get a public enquiry

You just know that unless the public and those affected keep on at the govt like they did with Hillsborough, that we'll never know the truth and who is culpable. That tower houses about 400 to 500 people. Yet we're not hearing anything like those numbers when they're talking about the deaths.
