According to the Juventus CEO "Chelsea have made a very nice offer but we rejected it" The fee was believed to be around £55.2M. He then went on to say he didn't know how the player felt about it hinting that the player would be interested in signing For Chelsea who are willing to more than double his €2.8M a year salary.
He is one of the best Left backs around and would suit our system but isn't £52m a little extortionate for a wing back?

If a dancer is worth £90 million in today's market then this is pennies for a footballer...
On a serious note, i like Alonso and think he's actually a bit underrated by a lot of our fans... the player we need to replace is Moses, the guy got shown up a lot towards the end of the season and in terms of talent he had a brilliant start but watching his second half of the season made me question him a lot.. practically every game

Totally agree with this. Alonso has a great work ethic and chips in with important goals. Moses would be a good squad option but easily improved on.

Really dunno why some Chelsea fans are obsessed with our youngsters. If they're good enough to compete with the best, they'd surely be called upon.

I really dunno why some Chelsea fans are obsessed by signing other clubs young players.
The likes of Bakayoko have had an opportunity to show what they can do - an opportunity not afforded to youngsters at Chelsea.
We could have the next Pele under our noses but still wouldn't take the time to find out!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If playing them in the first team is the only way to know if there good enough then all our coaches and scouts should be fired immediately.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Why?
No coach is going to know what a young player is like until he has seen him battle hardened after a prolonged period.
Do you think Delli Alli was thrown into the frey and all of a sudden was the player we saw last season?

Brummie, put it this way, its obvious Abraham has potential to be good enough but Fankaty Dabo doesn't, i don't need to see either in our first team to come to that conclusion.
Also when i played footy as a kid out of everyone i played with two player's stood out and everyone in our team unanimously agreed if any will make it as a pro it would be them two (and one did). So if a bunch of 13 year old's with no coaching badges can clock the best talent i would be seriously distrubed if our coaches couldn't.

RM, potential means nothing at this level, we can all spot the most likely candidates but a player needs time to grow into a league like the PL, it just doesn't happen overnight.
Even experienced players from abroad can take time to adapt, let alone raw teenagers. They need some platform to build on and don't receive it.
No dramas RM, that's just my opinion!

You can spot the one's with potential but even at a young age it's obvious who has no chance.
Imagine if we spent so much time giving Bamford and Kalas opportunities, the time we have wasted on Kennedy and Loftus cheek is bad enough

I actually rate both Kalas and Kenedy. I think Kenedy could be a shout for that LWB role.

The point I'm making RM is that we know the ones with potential but as a club do nothing to help them realise that potential apart from continually loan them out.
Didn't rate Kenedy that much and think we'd be better off releasing him, Kalas I thought was decent but at his age the decent thing to do for him, would be to let him go to get his career going properly before we ruin him.

No chance, he would be a joke there.
