Manchester City could be set to make a move for Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets, according to talkSPORT.
Reports in Italy had suggested that Roberto Mancini was keen on bringing in the midfielder to help bolster his options in the middle of the park.
The signing of Cesc Fabregas could see Busquets' opportunities limited in the future, meaning City's bid for the club may not be fruitless.
Busquets has on occasion been used in the cent of Barcelona's defence in the absence of Carlos Puyol, meaning the Spaniard would be able to lend genuine versatility to City.
Having already signed Owen Hargreaves, who has joined Nigel De Jong and Gareth Barry on a long list of a central midfielders, Busquets would have his work cut out to play regulary, however at just 23, City may be looking to the future.
