Doesnt he play in the AFCON as well, so when Mane is out for a month or so he will be too?

Obviously a really good signing for the rest of the time though.

Think it was manfrom who pointed it out, but Egypt haven't qualified for that many in the last few, this one just gone was their first in about 4 I think.

Plus we don't have to worry about it until 2019 so that's future liverpools problem.

Can you imagine if we'd managed to snag VVD as well?

Still hoping we are able to patch things up with the saints and seal the deal.

VVD has been criminally overrated on here. He's a good defender but people are going on like he's the 2nd coming of Nesta. He hasn't done a whole lot other than a few good displays for a mid table team.

Blistering pace and is left footed to give the attack some balance too.

VVD was the second best centre half in The league last season after alderweireld. I think it's really a case of realising he's probably the best option out there that we could obtain for that position, we aren't going to be signing a Godin, Varane or Thiago Silva - they won't come.

He would suit us well, suits the league well and would solidify a position that's been an issue for us since we had Carra and Hyppia playing there.

Wouldn't fancy being a defender against Coutinho, Salah, Sane and Firmino.

Pace and trickery, not a Liverpool fan but looking forward to watching them.

I agree with the above VVD is a stand out and would provide a much more solid base than Lovren.

That's highly debatable. Saints defence didn't change a whole lot when he got injured and I can't remember too many great VVD performances against the big teams.
