Just seen that JM has been appointed to the board at Forest, good to see we're building a proper structure at the club now. Not sure what his role will be though, any thoughts?

He understands European transfer system? He must have gained some football management experience since he hung up his boots I expect.

I thought he was on the coaching staff for a while with the sheepshuggers down the road.

Done a bit of coaching at Feyenoord. The new owners wanted someone on the board with a Forest connection. I assume he has some good connections through Europe. At the very least, he should inspire some improvements in the free kick department!

Appointing Johnny Metgod whilst is nice in theory I dont think its going to really have any great impact on our future prosperity. We already have a full suite of managerial appointments made after the Marinakis takeover. If anything I'm possibly feeling a little underwhelmed at our transfer activity or lack of...
Cummings is a decent purchase but would love to see us bring in at least two young and hungry central midfielders, Jackson Irvine would be a great signing. Our central midfield is badly in need of some rejuvenating as Cohen and Vaughan as noble as they both are, are too injury prone and the wrong side of 30. be lucky to get 30 starts out of the pair of them!! Also badly need a left back, keeper to challenge Smith and probably another wide player

We need a left back and another central midfielder, but we don't want to flirt with FFP again, as [obviously] Derby are doing, thanks to Medling Mel.
If we play our strongest team from the start of the season this time, we should be OK. By that I mean mid table. We have a lot of agents fee's and loan wages to clear.

Unless Forest accept a big bid for Assombalonga, I can't see there being that much transfer activity this summer. Going to take a while to clear up the Al Hasawi mess I'm afraid.
Metgod will hopefully prove his value in the boardroom. Lines of communication have been better than at any time under the Kuwaitis and he can only help enhance that. I also think he will have a deep affinity with the club so it will be a good influence that the fans can trust.
