Then the signing of Lacazette is pointless. It will just continue the cycle of letting our best players go while papering over the cracks.
Club has to offer Sanchez what he wants and more. He is the best player we have had for years and it will be a catastrophe if he leaves.
Starting the season with Sanchez and Lacazette will give the team and the fans a huge lift and maybe the team will finally challenge for the league.
If Sanchez leaves

Mahrez, Ozil and Alexis in the same midfield will get ripped apart.
______
In the past what we have lacked is rotation with quality players on bench. So addition of Mahrez will be key, playing ozil mahrez and sanchez together is a different debate.

I am not sure you can convince any player with any sort of pride to sit on the bench. One of the crucial elements to winning teams is consistency of selection. Why would you drop a player on the top of his form?

Think he's going to City. He holds all the cards now. All he has to say is "Sell me to City for £50m or I walk on a free in 12 months" No club would turn it down. You can't allow someone that good to leave on a free.

A player can't choose where he goes until he is out of contract. So Alexis cannot demand to go to city. Arsenal could sell him to another club like Bayern if they so wanted.

Barcelona, Real and Bayern does it...depth in the squad is required to win trophies.

++++++++
If we keep Sanchez, addition of Lacazette and possible Mahrez would make us title contender. Wenger and club should be ready to take this gamble...Sanchez would be 29 next year so its not as if you loosing young 20 year old player on free. cut the losses and move on...we signed him for hardly £30-32m so keeping him even if he doesn't sign extension would be key for the club. Don't forget his agent get money from his transfer fees so if he go on free I am sure money will be proportionality lower...so his agent might ask him to sign the contract but have some sort of subjective clause that he can leave next year or after ...there are ways around mate.

Also if we manage to tie him down, that will send some statement to other clubs and players. End of the day club is bigger than individual player...Messi and Ronaldo are not exception either.

He can. He knows how vulnerable you are with only a year left. Also Bayern don't want to make him their higher paid player either so you are out of luck there.
You either pay him his demands and improve your team or he going to City I reckon.

Arsenal don't need the money and don't need to sell him. he will go to a club Arsenal agree upon or walk away in 12 months.
Arsenal cannot and will not sell him to City IMO.
I would suggest we offer a 1 year extension and say if its not going how we planned you can go next summer with our blessing for 30mil.

No player can choose where he goes whilst he is contracted. Many players have been transferred to clubs that were not their first choice.
