Off topic, but anyone watching/enjoying this so far?
Bet the English lawn tennis assicistion are reeling in that the two best British players they have are Scottish and Australian you couldn't make it up.
Well played to those two, who's everyone fancy to win the singles tournaments?
Wimbledon

It is funny how poor we are at Tennis as a nation. Particularly as one that has a long history in the game (without much success).
I guess it's a lot to do with the accessibility of it.

We're a lot better than we used to be. I remember when Jeremy Bates and Jo Durie were our beacons of hope.

Went on Monday and back for the final on Sunday.
Brilliant sport to watch live. On telly? Meh.

Followed and watched most of the matches in week one. Went on super saturday and manic monday.
Interestingly, the women's matches have been more impressive than the men's this time. The best games have involved the women.
I mean i could watch Federer paint but it is like shooting fish in a barrel watching him steamroller most of his rivals. Same could be said of other members of the big four, really.
Most of the women's matches have been tight, impressive and serving top-quality matches. It is helped by Serena being away and so much permutations in the WTA tour form/rankings.

Went to Wimbledon in about 92 or 93. Put me right off tennis tbh.
Up there with the Epsom Derby as sporting events I will never go back to.

That'd put you in your 40s?
I always thought you were a teen or in your twenties.
