No doubt about it Walker is a fine fullback and it's gutting that he is gone but cmon it's not as if he's bloody Maldini in his prime.
He wasn't even the the best fullback at Spurs, that is Danny Rose who is a far better footballer. Kyle is fast, powerful, dynamic and exciting but his end ball and interplay is shocking at times.
I'm not saying we aren't going to miss him or find it easy to replace him but I'm sure with the right scouting we can bring in a suitable replacement.
Talk on here that we are now a selling club again is ridiculous. He had a fall out with Poch and he fell out of favour. Juventus sold the outstanding Bonnuci to Ac Milan today. Last season they lost Pogba but they always replace well.
People say we have sold to a direct rival -
Question is where else would Walker have gone ?
United? No they already have a very good RB in Antonio Valencia.
We wouldn't sell to Arsenal or Chelsea. Liverpool is a step down and don't pay wages like The before mentioned clubs.
Let's face it you couldn't see Walker playing for Barca, Madrid or Bayern he isn't technically good enough.
We sold him to City because we had to and we got a very handsome fee.
All we hear is about Trippiers deficiencies and of course he isn't great defensively but Poch isn't naive to leave Trippier unprotected against elite wide men , our coach sets his teams up superbly and we have had the best defence for the last two seasons.
Trippier is a fine player and we wil buy another RB to compete with him.
Let's trust that our manager knows what he is doing.
Let's see who we bring in over the next month or so and look forward to watching this exciting team again that broke records galore last season.
A little bit of Pespective

I can live with Walker leaving, but joining a rival is what really irks me. At the moment, we have weakened our right hand side whilst strengthening a rival in a position they were desperate for.
£54m is good money, but only if it is invested wisely. And I find it strange that we have not brought in a replacement first, as clubs now know we have 50 odd million burning a hole in our pocket.

Don't understand why both our fans and others are blowing this out of all proportion!
We sold Walker to City for over the odds
It is the first bit of transfer we have done in or out this summer
We have a very capable replacement who statistically has better stats than a large portion of the other RB in the Premiership despite been a reserve RB
We have a system that allows either CB to drop into the wing back position should Rose, Davies or Tripper fancy a jaunt
Selling one first team player does not make us a selling club and is not a sign of weakness to the other players.
The team I saw last season wanted to be at Tottenham because they believed that something big was happening which is something I have never seen in all my years

However if we bought a replacement then City would drop the price as they would know we intended to sell so swings and roundabouts really

I think we are in a unique position this time we have sold a big player, compared to other times. Those times we have ended up using it to buy several players at once at his has had mixed results.
Carrick 2006
He was the heartbeat of the side. We sold him at the same time as having to strenghthen for a European campaign, and it spread us thin. Berba the standout signing.
Berbatov and Keane 2008
Ramos/Commoli used the sale of these two to buy lots of players to overhaul Jol's squad, with mixed success. Modric the outstanding signing among the many
Modric 2012
Baldini/AVB used the cash for the first overhaul of Redknapp's squad. Lloris, Verts, Dempsey, Siggy et al.
Bale 2013
The infamous seven signings, and the finalisation of the overhaul of Redknapp's side.
Walker 2017
There is no major squad surgery to be had, and a big injection of cash. We can hopefully concentrate our efforts on signing two or three quality players with this and other monies received. Quality not quantity.

Players who had release clauses in they're contracts prior to the explosion in the market are looking like the only way of getting a good deal nowadays.
Sandro to Everton for £6m being one.

Good article 5 's
Well balanced appraisal
Poch and Levy are no mugs, there will be something in the pipeline. ..Levy always keeps his cards close to his chest.
And we now have enough money to buy Leandro Damião

Seems we're in for Ricardo Pereira from Porto but playing for Nice.

Reports suggest we have dropped our interest in Pereira for whatever reason.
All things being equal, we still have time to sign decent additions to our squad. Barkley would be a useful addition, but not at £40m+ Everton are asking, especially for a player with only less than a year left on his contract.
I would think we can get him for around £25m, so it is an obvious waiting game to see who blinks first, us or Everton.
At present the team for the first couple of games picks itself, and by that time Son and Rose should be fit plus any new additions should be well into Poch's training methods
