Yesterday's news went under the radar. No surprise as a backup RB to World Cup winning Holgate never will be big news.

But would allow Holgate to move central in a back four if we have injuries with Coleman out and can move him on for a few £'s next summer.
Squad filler.....nothing exciting

Will he definitely be backup? Holgate will be the starting RB?

I would expect Holgate to continue and Kenny to also push for a start.
Either way it would allow Holgate to drop into CB as a four or a back three

Holgate is not a right-back and should not be starting there, cover or not, whenever he's played there he's been skinned by the opposition, cannot understand why he keeps on being played there.
Kenny is a natural right back and impressed when he's played, he deserves more game time and I'd play him ahead of the freebie from Southampton.

Martina is chit and Holgate looked so obviously out of position when playing RB for England U21s this summer, strange signing imo. Guess only a few months now till Coleman's back though

He is out of position at RB but has a WC winner medal so does Kenny, who played every minute and plays RB. So he is a good backup to our two lads.

From my OP I didn't include Kenny, my error but I did mention him in a following reply.
I would expect him to be backup to our lads....plus, you never know what could happen with him. Koeman hasn't made an error in transfer market.....yet
