Out of our realistic Striker targets -

I definitely preferred Morata to Lukaku. Article below, before United even bid for Lukaku if Utd fans attempt to wum

http://www.ja606.co.uk/articles/viewArticle/371373

Don't get me wrong, if money was no object and i didn't believe his next destination when he does leave Juventus would be one of El Classico, I would ideally have wanted Dybala.

But i am very happy with how things have gone with Lukaku and Morata.

If as we're led to believe, it's true that Lukaku was the Club's preferred target but Morata was Conte's preferred choice then even better. He was certainly mine out of the 2.

Oh and i'd be more than ok (now) if the club brought in Llorente, (providing it wasn't at the detriment of Bats) as a sub depending on whether the occasion called for a target man or a Bats type player off the bench etc.

Morata is the better deal out of the two on paper, although we need to see how he adapts to the Premier League
-----------
yeah I guess wait and see but the fact you stated we will have too see how he adapts makes at the moment lukaku the better signing, proven in this league as a regular goalscorer imo is worth the 10-15 extra, again come end of season I might think diff but happy we gt him out the 2
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lukaku is PL proven but scoring goals for West Brom and Everton and then scoring goals for Utd are two entirely different animals.

Also if we're going down the PL proven route then you can counter it with the fact that Morata is CL proven playing for two of the biggest clubs in the world in Real and Juve. Lukaku by comparison isn't CL proven and has no experience of playing for one of the very big clubs (no disrespect to Everton).

Scoring goals for a team with less chances is harder than scoring for a team with more chances I don't buy that.

Both are obviously very good, Morata all round is better though

Not necessarily. Having to score goals when there is a bigger expectancy on you to score and having to live up to a very large price tag only adds extra pressure I'd say.

There are plenty examples of strikers playing well for lesser teams that couldn't recreate that when they went up to a bigger team playing under a different spotlight.

Plenty more examples the other way though

Put it this way Utd fans have little idea how Lukaku is going to perform against Barca or Bayern in a big CL game. Especially as Lukaku doesn't have a particularly good scoring record against the bigger PL teams. So far the evidence points to him being a bit of a flat track bully.

serious question does anyone have the stats for this the last season or 2 for say, agero, kane, lukaku, giroud, costa for goals in games against the so vcalled big teams, I can remember lukaku scoring against city twice last year and spurs so genuinely would like to know the stats

Lukaku will score the most. Morata will make more and bring others into play more as well as score quite a few. They are different players.

Lukaku will be offside the most
