I don't think he has looked completely out of his depth in pre season to be fair, but 8 million! I'd still prefer we loan him

I don't know, I wouldn't say he looks ready for Premier League football but did very well last season in The Championship, 8 million for a player who was potentially going to be loaned again this season is a decent price, depends how much the club rates him.

Mick McCarthy said in a recent interview that he was Ipswich Towns best player by a mile last season and they would have loved to have kept him.
Derby were also reported to be monitoring him and showing an interest.

I think again, it all depends on the theoretics behind what we would do with the 8 million. If it was needed to contribute to a potential signing or wages that we wouldn't have otherwise completed or agreed to respectively, yes it would be of value to sell. If we are going to purchase the players we want irrelevant of this money, I don't see the value in selling particularly to a premier league side. This hypothesis is a general comment in relation to any of players we sell (the only other factor would be if the player staying at the club would negatively affect us more than a sale of said player - ie. If Slimani stays and misses chances, are the points dropped because of this outwayed by the points gained from his positive contributions, or negativity on morale of a player who may wish to leave negatively outwaying the contribution to points that they provide through pitch time : Mahrez as a plausible potential example of this in theory

Right got it just needed caffeine๐ฌ
Excellent point which I cant really add too,
But should we not be trying to keep theses young players especially if they have potential,,
And are obviously happy to be loaned out / sit on the bench ?

Also agree. Fair points KTF1.
Personally I don't think he'll make it, but he won't be happy as a squad player. If he disrupts the team then better to let him go. A decent buy back clause is as good as a loan these days but with £8m in the bank.
I'd go down that route.

If Brigton do get him just think, first home game and we face Knocky on one wing and TL on the other. Just hope if they get a pen that Knocky takes it.

Yep agree we should try to keep our youngsters IF they are happy and their sale doesn't contribute to a potentially better addition to the squad.

Think he's still young enough not to count towards squad numbers, also with uncertainty over Mahrez I'd say two points for not letting him go. Maybe have a deal lined up for last minute in the transfer window if Mahrez stays.
