Forest v Burnley

I went through o the game yesterday. Here are my player ratings:

Smith - 8 - cracking save from a point blank header. We don't need another first choice goalie.

Traore - 7 - great display, other than the back heel which invited the pressure for their equaliser
Mancienne - 7 - solid, but still has a mistake in him as with Traore
Worral - 9 - imperious. What a player. The guys massive.

Darikwa - 9 - I couldn't believe that's his first game for us. Defensively sound, great crosser. Antonio lite at times haha. I don't see Lichaj fitting in the first 11. If we sold him and brought in Justin and Ruddock I'd be happy.
Vaughan - 9 - the system seems to cover his lack of pace. As does his distribution and the way he holds / shield the ball. Not the long term answer but didn't look out of place
Ward - 7 - his usual self
Osborn - 8 - still not sure it's his best position, but if you thought he ran around like a man deranged last year, he looks the fittest in our squad and could have done another hour easy.

Clough - 7 -didn't stand out, but he was on the opposite side of the pitch. I think he put some good crosses in.
Murphy - 8 - took his goal well, held it up brilliantly. A lot faster than I thought he would be. Deserved a second.
Brereton - 7 - not his ideal position, but he did well and linked up well with Darikwa.

I'd had a few so the subs were a bit of a blur, probably got the lineup as well.

Hobbs didn't really seem to fit into the system as his passing was quite weak.

Overall: 8.5. Fittest I've seen a Forest squad. Darikwa looks like he's played for us all his life. Murphy was everything I'd hoped for. Bouchlakis could play in the Prem based on that performance.

Top half finish I'd say. I'd be amazed if we didn't batter Millwall on Friday. That £50 is looking pretty safe.

Watched the highlights. They look a lot busier than last year and the pace seemed pretty decent, even for a friendly.

I guess the only worry is is overdoing it. Already got Ward and Cash nursing injuries.

I think Lichaj will thrive on the competition from Darikwa.

Thanks for this 'chile. I've not been able to attend any of the pre seasons but the reports coming through are all positive.

I'd like to see Vellios start to be honest but can't see him and Murphy both starting.

Not too fussed about the injuries so far. could have been worse. I think Cash will go out on loan if we get another CM (McDonald?) and I'd sooner have Carayol than Ward although Warbs seems to like Jamie.

Ward does the dirty work for others, such as Clough, Osborn and McKay, to do the fancy stuff.

He does lack goals, though. That is one criticism I would make of him.

Sounds like Ariyibi had a great first game for Milton Keynes Dons:
