Has the squad improved since Conte joined? Not sure !!! If anything the squad looks a lot thinner compared to last season, and no European games to contest with. No wonder Conte is pulling his hair out. There is no way CFC will compete on all fronts with the current squad.
Obviously, the board recognises the deficiencies in the squad, and we are told that they are trying very hard to bring at least three more players in, but have been frustrated in securing those signings due to the crazy market.
Now, what I don't understand is that why sell if you don't have replacements ready ? To me that smacs complacency, smarmy and hopeful things will turn out to be OK in.the end.
Well, our previous experience tells us that after Chelsea win the league? they kinda shoot themselves in the foot. I am not sure the board have learned from the past. It's time they did though. Off course there is still time to fix this. But ideally you'd want these signings early, so that they can adapt to the new life under Conte. By the time they are ready we could be already out of the title race by December.
Are we going to realistically challenge for the title next season ? Barr any miracles, I remain very doubtful.
If the board want Conte to fail, they are on the right track.

i'd rather moses over walker every day of the week. Have not seen enough of mendy or danilo.
Kompany has been crap and injury ridden for 5 years now, made mistake after mistake 2/3 years ago. Stones is crap too.
Don't understand people who love to slander our players and then overrate opposition teams.
How many times you seen mendy?

I think we got away with it last year. Alonso was a last ditch signing after everyone else turned us down and he over performed greatly last year. It remains to be seen if he will do so again this year. Moses is a similar story. Did really well last year but maybe the opposition will find him out this season. We need cover.
We also lack a midfielder as Cesc is not mobile enough to sit against a good mobile attack (luckily there are only 3 or 4 in England).

Plenty of time. He is an exceptional full back, up.there with the likes of Sandro and Marcello. Danilo had a torrid time at RM, but prior that he was one of the best full backs in Europe that prompted RM to shell €31m for him. Also, he can play in both positions LB/LWB and RB/RWB. Agree with Walker to a certain extent defensively is a bit suspect at times bit he is great going forward. All their full backs will start ahead of Moses and Alonso, who let's be honest have been shoehorned their positions.

As I said Conte worked miracles last seaon, obviously not being in Europe helped, but considering both Manc clubs outspending us by quite a margin.
We can't go with Alonso and Moses playing every game without at least a cover. If we want to make a dent in the CL both RWB and LWB needs upgrading.
Look at both Manc clubs, they have a minimum of two world class players for each position.

We can play at Azpi at RWB in the tougher games in which we'll have to defend more.
Back 3 of Cahill, Luiz and Rudiger

Personally, looking at the body language of the board (which has been consistent for 3 years now), I have lowered my expectations and I am hoping for another miracle season. What frustrates me is that for the past 3 years, we go through transfer uncertainties every summer and the board seem to just revel in it.
I still think we were pretty lucky last year that Conte worked a miracle and things worked out, and this year might pose a different challenge altogether. I would have thought we have got enough experience from past mistakes to learn. I hope the board is not setting up Conte to fail and at the end of the window, I hope we have a squad good enough to fight.

Pretty lucky....
We bought well, in Luiz Kante Alonso & the best signing Conte....who saw the potential in Moses...
The main fortune we had was a Europe free season...
Come on now
