If so, without 'spoilers' what did you think of it?
I enjoyed it. So much so that i'd actually approve if the same director did a remake of the Battle of Britain.
If you like War films but generally wait for the DVD, i would recommend seeing this one at the Cinema
Who's watched Dunkirk?

seen it and thought it was a bit limited as to what they showed as it concentrated too much on a select few.

I suspect that was a purely commercial decision so they could cast the 1d idiot and rake in money from his fans. Possibly.

i saw it 70mm Imax!! Stunning to look at. amazing sound!
sure its light on character development, but the situation is the story.
Once you take in the structure of how the 3 strands of story, (Land,Sea, & Air) unfolds, i think it works very well.
i don't get whats confusing about it. i had someone telling me about how Harry Styles wasn't the main guy and they were dissappointed!!!? wtf?!
I was suprised how well he did, for his first motion picture.
Loved it 8/10 for me.

Interesting. Mixed bag so far, on the positive side going by these reviews.

Really enjoyed it, love war films in general and this was a good one. Definitely worth a trip to the cinema, IMAX if you can as that's what it was shot in. The sound is incredible.
It's very tense and unnerving at times.
One direction guy didn't bother me as I don't really know him/heard him speak much. He certainly didn't ruin anything.
The 3 seperate timelines in the film worked really well, and was a nice concept.

What did you want, 300,000 people's view on it?

The cinematic event of the summer, so I had to take a look. Christopher Nolan has excelled himself here - instead of a sprawling Interstellar style project, this is a highly focussed, highly dramatic spectacle with very little cgi, and although this astounding production can't deliver the enormous scale and chaos of the actual event, what it does deliver in spades is the visceral terror of the situation for the individuals so appallingly exposed on the beaches and in the sea.
Super performances from Mark Rylance and his much younger co-stars, utterly convincing acting and gut-wrenchingly tense scenarios made this a film to be experienced rather than enjoyed.
Hans Zimmer frames this film, (thank you!), with his unique style soundtrack which was extremely effective for many scenes, but the persistent throbbing background noise throughout became noticeable and thus intrusive and unnecessary - the only jarring note. And Nolan couldn't help over-doing the emotional bit towards the end - he can be forgiven for that because overall this was a mighty effort and deserving of much praise.

I saw it on imax, good movie with great sound/ music.
I think maybe they could have a few more boats in the water though, didn't ever appear to be that many making the trip

I thought it was really good, well written and not over the top. The depiction of the Naaazi's was spot on, they aren't comic book villains most are no different from you and I, they just have to fight for their regime same as us. The constant dread throughout the movie also highlighted by the lack of emotion when attacked made it seem really realistic. A few unnecessary scenes like the kid or Hardy flying out so unnecessarily far but that's about it.

Liked it. Not as good as some of the ratings suggested though.

i can see why you'd say that.
I did think (as much as Hollywood could) it did do a good job of recreating some of the hopelessness and helplessness those people felt.
It also at bits reinforced the perception that the Army held that they were let down by the RAF.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I haven't seen the movie but I watched a documentary on Dunkirk. The army hated the RAF to a point that any airmen that tried to flee the beaches of Dunkirk were refused permission to board the boats, what the soldiers didn't know was the RAF were battling the Luftwaffe, without them there would have been for more casualties.
