From the post:
Nottingham Forest are expected to complete a deal to sign England starlet Kieran Dowell on a season-long loan from Everton on Wednesday.
The 19-year-old attack-minded midfielder was part of the England squad that won the Under-20 World Cup this summer.
He is highly regarded at the Goodison Park club, where he has made two Premier League appearances, both towards the end of the 2015/16 season.
Dowell will complete the formalities of his move in time to challenge for a place in the Reds squad that faces Millwall in the Championship on Friday night.

A lot of good words from Everton fans. Many were expecting him to break into the first team this season so might be a steal, even if it is a loan.

Always likely to be a young loaner from the Prem. Hopefully he has a bit of gumption about him. Seen many come down to this level and struggle with the physicality of the championship...

Akpom from Arsenal was the best example. So selfish and was so clearly out for himself. I see he hasn't made any progress back in London. It's so strange that a lot of Prem youngsters don't see loans to the lower leagues as massive opportunities. They flounce about and miss the point.

This kids a scouser so he'll have a bit of competitive fight about him and I suspect will use his experience with us to propel himself to the next stage. I agree some of these premiership kids (Akpom comes to mind) strutt around like they've already made it which just demonstrates why they dont go on and push themselves to the next level. Look at John Terry's loan at Forest for example, he paid a huge part in steering us to safety that year under Platt when he came in at 19 and marshaled our flimsy defence.

Yes, you can't teach attitude. Terry was a born winner, despite his other flaws. The examples are all there. You can't ever think you've made it.
I have hopes this lad will come in on a high after winning the World Cup with England. Going to be some real competition in centre mid now so he is going to have to be 100% every game. Gives me a bit more confidence that the Reds are stocked with some decent talent this season.

It's official, on the OS 👍
So warburton says we were hoping for 2 more in before millwall, so that's one. We should be fairly close to a second.

I'm loving our business this year, so refreshing compared particularly to last year. If we go only one up though I suspect Murphy will be Warbs first choice which means not alot of game time for Vellios, Cummings, and Brereton will most likely be played out of place on the right.
So is Warbs gonna go 3-5-2 or 4-3-3, will Osborn go back to being left back like he was in his academy days as we have alot of midfield options now and little or nothing at left back?

Always wondered what would happen to him. He looks like he should be a monster of a player.....just never had it.

Vellios has scored five in pre-season so he has got his eye in. Just seems to be far more effective as a super sub. Still time for him to really stake a claim but the competition upfront at the CG is fierce and there are now more forward options for Warburton so whoever gets the nod upfront is really going to have to earn it. Assombalonga appeared an almost automatic choice at times last season even when he appeared short of match sharpness. Don't think that'll be the case this season as I think Warburton will be chopping and changing as the situation demands.

Last season we reportedly didn't have good fitness and there didn't seem to be a good ethic around the team. A combination of the imbecile owner and PM was mainly to blame for that.
Although we've lost Britt and missed out on relegation on goal difference; I'd expect the original players to be a bit more on it this season and our additions aren't the worse. It feels that the formation that MW plays somewhat were having BA dropped in them for his raw goal scoring ability (which you'd expect), rather than it being roles he's well suited to.
With 3 up front we have a few options as the wider positions can just as easily fit attacking midfielders as easier as out and out forwards. I'd like us to bring another forward to offer something different to what we've got now, but it depends who is available at what price. I wouldn't want another McCormack, maybe with Brereton and Cummings we already have that extra bit of eye for goal though. Time will tell
