Did Chelsea miss Matic yesterday and if so has his abikity / role in a team been under estimated ?

Drogba's hold up play was good and so was Costa's hold up play.End of discussion.

why is that end of discussion? Idiotic to compare the two really.

I was only talking about similarity between Drogba and Costa hold up play but Drogba was less prolific but a bigger big match winner although also usually performs well in big matches.

But drogba could hold the ball up. Costa couldn't. Costa was the best poacher we've had, but hold up play was woeful. Completely different

Fine Nick but I disagree.Anyway I enjoyed both players Didier Drogba and Diego Costa as Chelsea players.

I don't think Costa was a great poacher at all.
I think is movement in a round the pen area and his anticipation were some of the weaker parts of the game.
His strengths are offf the shoulder of the last defender, timing of runs from ddep, his aggression, work rate and pure physicality.

And link up play, especially from slightly deeper positions

Lol of course biggish
Guy was crap at hold up. For every ball through to William against city, there were 20 broken down counter opportunities.
His best qualities were first time finishing.
Work rate was also poor
