Anyone seen him play ? Pretty interesting that Poch waited until Trips had gone off injured to say KWP isn't ready to start..... Over to you baldy !

He's good, not fantastic but there's definitely potential there. Barca were linked with him in January but then nothing came of it. Would be happy if we signed him but as he's a known player and he'd cost upwards of ££20 I don't see it happening. Probably end up offering £1.25m for Douglas who has barely kicked a ball for Barca in the 2 seasons he's been there.

To use the old cliche though, Poch always improves fullbacks.
As long as he has good technique, good athletic qualities, a good competitive edge and can tackle then he is a good signing. It is really easy to teach fullbacks tactics and positioning, one of the few positions where you don't really need a brain just need to be a good athlete.

So still a chance he'll teach Trippier good positioning then

I don't mind Trippier's positioning actually, it is more the fact that he is too slow (as shown by the second clash with Sandro yesterday in which he went off), and I don't think he is a very good tackler. If the winger has the ball he stands too far off and rarely gets a block or tackle in.

For me he's positionally poor but I think it's maybe more to poch than Trippier himself.
He trying to play like Walker with out walkers recovering pace to get him out of trouble.

That isn't poor positioning in my book though, that is poor tactics.

Well no because he's position should be different hence he's positionally poor.
He should know he's got a snails pace and is rubbish at tackle so should hold better position to minimise his faults

I disagree mate, I think that's tactics.
If Poch tells him to sit level with the opps box out wide when in possession of the ball then he's doing what he is told. People said Walker had a bad game vs West Ham cos of his positioning but I disagree, the tactics were off and Dier/Wanyama didn't cover him like they should have done.
Positioning is how he handles himself defensively when we have the majority of men in our half and I don't often see him out of place in that sense, but I do see him frequently beaten by individual talent (Martial being a prime example).

Tactically stupid or positionally stupid still doesn't look good on him

Yeah I won't disagree with that, as you know I am not much of a fan but like to be fair with my criticism.

Trippier with that unlimited potential as opposed to over-the-hill Walker

To be fair you can't really have a set tactic to defend against a winger as there are so many different types, it's more about knowing your opponents strengths and weaknesses. So if he's just standing 3 yards off everyone for example then that's a lack of awareness on his part and also Poch's if he's not told him otherwise
