Which is too much for someone who'll play backup to Wood.

shaun, you're looking at anything between £10-20 mill for those alone......its not the kind of money we'll spend yet

£1.5m for a guy leading in his side to the title (top scorer) and into Europe (Champions/Europa League dependent on Celtic tie) seems too cheap?

Yh its more of a Wood replacement but if we want to be league favourites, and talked about by the pundits and tabloids, we need to start competing with the big sides in this league. Deeney is heading out of Watford, any move from there has surely got to be downwards.

The reality is no decent striker would join us to be Woods back up in the same way Spurs struggle with a Kane back up.

The result is either an unknown such as Erukban or the alternative is a winger/striker like a Jansson/Sun at Spurs so they know they will get games.

This is difficult as you are trying to find a target man cross winger so maybe need someone with a Doukara type build.

Or depending on your perspective, too expensive for a 28 year old with a poor record apart from one decent season with the best team in a weak league.

Deeney has done well in the prem, wouldn't be cheap.

I'd be going for a good veteran striker 32+ plus with prem quality like Crouch who can bring a lot of experience into the team and play as a back up striker.

He's bang goals in championship from the bench
