my main positive is that I don't even think we played that well. It's really playing on my mind that Mahrez got 90 minutes...I have this panicky feeling we are going to pander to him and dent everything our ethos have been based around over the past 5 or 6 years. Someone tell me I'm stressing too much!!!

Is there any argument for playing Okazaki a little longer in games?

Okazaki was blowing out of his backside about 5 minutes before he was hauled. And there was nothing wrong with that sub anyway; it was the next one.

Incidentally, Harry Maguire looked absolutely forlorn when he was leaving the pitch. Worth removing all the sharp objects from his home tonight. Perhaps replace them with a book on how to actually stay in the middle of fricking defence and not go randomly charging off down the left wing. We're not in the Championship any more, you can't get away with Bambaisms at this level.

We all said that we had an incredibly difficult start - let's take that into account. We have a reasonable run of games coming up over the next 4 or 5 weeks now and, in my opinion, only have 3 fixtures against top teams through to the new year now - so let's hold on a little before we hit panic stations - particularly as we haven't actually played that badly at all in any of our fixtures. I'm not really one to reflect on 'what could have been' in previous fixtures as I believe it can make players feel sorry for themselves.

I am surprised there is any debate about why King came on as I thought it was obvious that it was to accommodate both Mahrez and Gray.

Mahrez played poorly, any excuse about him receiving the ball near our half way line being the reason is nonsense - but at the same time, I respect that he has been open and honest with the club and appears to have started the season with endeavour and commitment....obviously if he has another couple of games in a row where he is poor, there will be questions arising about the stark contrast between his input pre and post transfer deadline day.

We missed Okazaki and with him in the team perhaps we could have accommodated both Gray and Mahrez - I also don't understand the moaning about King, in relation to the player and manager- yes, if he had been brought on to add creativity - I'd get the critique of his contribution, but a) I don't think he did that badly b) we looked decent at the start of the second half and again got sucker punched by a goal and c) He wasn't brought on for that reason!...the only critique should be as to whether we should have been looking to play Mahrez and Gray together.

I also think a group of fans have decided that Shakespeare just isn't very good with regard to tactics, full stop - and are therefore looking for any reason to criticise them.

Finally as mentioned, we haven't started badly in terms of our play and have had some bad luck - we have a decent run now to Christmas and have Iborra and nacho to come in, Huth to come back and hopefully Silva to add something.

As a post script, I'm really struggling to defend any argument for playing Slimani now and re: Gray, I don't see any reason not to consider him as another luxury (and a poorer one) in the same vain as Mahrez and really think, unless something changes, they should both be fighting for the same place (this is not me saying that he shouldn't be having more game time because I think with Mahrez's form over the last year there is an argument for this - but I don't see with how they've played generally over that same period - why accommodating both should be a go to.
