With PSG splurging on Neymar, and seemingly Mbappe as well they are going to need to sell if they have any hope of meeting FFP limits. Matuidi seems to be slightly less in favour under Emery, and seems to me to be the perfect sort of box-to-box play to go alongside Xhaka in a 3-4-3, or in a 3 with the Swiss and Ramsey (and not to mention is French).

All hypothetical of course, but is he a player that people would fancy for us? Looked to be heading to Serie A, but I'm sure we could compete financially.

He is a left footer. Would two left footed CM's work?
Sounds weird I know. But for some reason left footed players are limited it's weird.
