With Barca making bids of over £100mil for Coutinho, and rumoured bids/enquiries for Alexis being between £35-70mil - begs the question how much would these players be worth in the opposite scenario?
Coutinho going into the last year of his contract?
Alexis secured on a long term deal?
Thoughts...
Contract length = transfer value??

Probably not that different.
And I appreciate that alexis is a far superior player.
Depends on who was after him for a start.

Only reason Coutinho is going for 100+ is because Barca got the 200M. And they wouldn't be in for Alexis since he came from there.
Coutinho on last year of contract would prob be about 35M, although its very unlikely Liverpool would let it get to that. Tbh they are quite good at handling their contracts.

Agree with stretty, not that different.
Neither club wants to sell either player, the most you can realistically ask for a player in the final year of his contact is 35-50 mil. If he's got 5 years left arsenal would be looking at 100-150 mil, more or less what we are with Coutinho.

It also depends on player too. That puny French cvnt Payet had a lengthy contract too but West Ham management couldn't extract more money from the marseille.

Age will also come into play

Of course it does but Ozil was brought by Madrid for something like £12mil when he was 23?

Yeah but that was before transfer fees went crazy.

Alexis - 24 Premier Goals 10 assists
Coutinho - 13 Premier Goals 7 assists.
Judging by production Alexis would be worth a third more. So £150m.
