Still on AOC

Sky sources now reporting that he has turned down the new £180k a week deal to resign and the club will decide in the coming days whether to sell to Chelsea/ Liverpool or make him see out his contract.

It is instructive that this new offer will have placed Ox amongst the top three earners in the club; yet he declined. Also, I dont for a minute believe that OX believes he is going to have a starting place in Chelsea's or Liverpool's midfield; the inconvenient truth is that he, like Ozil and Sanchez are fed up of Wenger and the shambles at our dear club.

The abject contracts management (cue how long it took them to offer new terms to OX), the clueless, scatter gun approach to transfers, the sterile tactics and deployment of players in wrong positions and the general lack of direction that is Arsenal FC at this time.

On and off the pitch we are a dribbling mess and I dont see it getting better until Arsene facks off.

Rant over!

Ox would be earning more than Ozil and Alexis. Currently our 2 top earners are the Summer signings we made.

Ox is worth £180k/week because in the current market that is what our rivals are gonna be willing to pay him.

For him to turn that down means he clearly doesn't see his long term future here. No idea why he wants to leave though. Can't see him playing CM at Chelsea/Liverpool so is he leaving because he wants to play central?

Can't see him playing more at Liverpool than he does here. At Chelsea he would get in ahead of Moses so fair enough but I don't think playing time is the issue?

I can only guess he wants out for the same reason the likes of RVP, Cesc and Alexis did/do.

How the mighty have fallen, there was a time players like Ox would not get to sniff the Arsenal player’s dirty socks.....Now these injury mess crook who has barely done anything is being offered to be paid and made highest among the entire league and yet he rejects it!

Just shows how far behind Arsenal have gone. The longer Wenger stays the more damage he will do....Who is going to sort out he internal mess that this senile old fool has been breeding.

You can blame Wenger for a lot of things but you can't blame him for an overhyped English player wanting way more money than he's worth, or the agent who is having the word in his ear.

Well perhaps you partly can but he didn't bring about the greed that there is in football.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It not about money for OX; he doesnt believe he can reach his ceiling with Wenger and Arsenal.

That would be fair enough if he ever showed a degree of consistency. At least that coming from Sanchez you can understand it.

To be fair Ox has been very consistent of late, he is one of our best players atm, certainly better than the likes of Ozil. And his fast, physical play is exactly what we badly need at Arsenal. Whether he is worth what he is demanding will always be debatable, but obviously there is a club/s willing to pay more for his services and that's the football market these days. We now lag behind other clubs because Wenger has remained arrogantly stuck in the FFP mindset which all other clubs have ignored.

Physical, strong and powerful. This is going to be a huge loss to us

I would rather sell Ozil instead

Don't think it's all about money with Ox. Because I can't see him being offered any more than that at Chelsea. Definitely think he's been frustrated for a while with his role at the club and development. And couple that with no CL, and us not looking any stronger, it's no surprise he's up for going to Chelsea.

Ox is a good player. But he certainly is replaceable, and he isn't really worth the 180k, 35m with him being in last year is a decent deal. Plus he's never had a season of top performances. The worry is whether Wenger would bother replacing him. He does offer a good option for us. He would need to be replaced with similar player

It's just shows that are club is in a bit of a mess where even players like Ox want to leave!

If by "of late" you mean a few months then that isn't long enough, and has he been making telling contributions in each of the games?

All your British forwards seem to be the same in that they show inconsistency and get injured. I realise that the two things may not be mutually exclusive, still you might be best off getting rid of them all and starting again.

He has hardly been played for 90 mins. He is doing that more often now, and playing very well. As for injuries, Arsenal has had a history of long-term injuries regardless of whether players are British or not. It's a problem the club has virtually failed to address, nothing to do with being British.

Add 10 - 20 million to that 35 million we could get a top class winger or wing back that is 10 times better then Ox and will not break down every game for half of his wages.

I don’t see the problem with him leaving at all. The only problem is...Can Wenger make the right call? as for few seasons now he has been blind to what everyone else can see.....

Ffs, the guy has been injured for about 50% since he joined us from Southampton. Always promising but never quite delivering. Had a reasonable run last season and so reportedly he wants £200k per week . Sell the f'ker to to Chelsea or Liverpool- whoever pays the most. £35m ???? Sold
