I think that ship has sailed now. Yes, we have ramsey and wilshere but who knows when they will play together again.
Our passing as a team was atrocious today. Special mentions to benayoun and Gibbs. Don't give me the 'it was a tough away game' nonsense, we played exactly like this against swansea as well. Which was an 'easy home game' if you like.
We have to improve. Never want to see benayoun start in a big game like this. I couldn't believe how bad he was.
A point isn't a bad start, but it's not ideal, considering marseille already have three points.
People are saying this was the toughest game of the group, but I disagree. I think Marseille away will be much tougher. This is because dortmund only had goetze as a threat, Kawaga was good but not as effective. Marseille have tons of good players like Valbuena, Mbia, Gignac, Remy, ayew and im sure i've missed some out.
It's gonna be tough to qualify from this group, and I hope we don't mess it up due to our lack of quality in attack because our defence looks solid now. Vermaelan will be back soon and Mertesacker looks class.
We are no longer a good passing side.

"17 - Arsenal have now failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 17 Champions League games away from home. Sieve."
Makes you appreciate the defence man utd have. Man utd didn't concede any goals away from home in europe last season in the 6 away games we played. That included the likes of schalke 04 chelsea marseille all strong at home.

Koscielny proof readers, a class player would fit into any system without troubles. Ok, maybe we shouldn't expect benayoun to be on fire, but if you've been signed by arsenal, you should be able to complete at least half of the passes you attempt!!

but we haven't signed world-class players. so i really don't know what you're expecting there. as i already said, it's a culture shock - you could put a player like carrick into arsenal's team right now - carrick's only attribute is his pass completion rate - and he would struggle because of the level of preparation that goes into the passing patterns. it's not something you learn overnight, and it will take some getting used to. as you say, the 'tippy-tappy' style did gain us some success over the years - to accomodate much-needed new players requires a bedding-in process, unless we drop the 'tippy-tappy' stuff altogether. so i don't know what you're complaining about.

It's just that our movement has been awful since March which begs the question what has Wenger been doing in training.

Also playing Gervinho and Theo together will never work in Europe.

I was impressed that Wenger wasn't to proud to try and force players out of their comfort zone. He did just the right thing with supertanker and your defensive line dropped deeper. Per then had a good game with Koceilney. Your Chesney is a class act as well.
I'm not sure how your attacking players are going to adjust to that though.

Wow, there is always something with fans like you isn't there? Isn't it enough we hear the hypocritical nit-picking from biased pundits and spoilt children with unreasonable expectations? Terrible fans with no perspective.

Mertesacker 2nd match, Arteta 2nd match, Benayoun 2nd match there is no way you would expect tippy tappy with new players who are still adapting to the movement of their colleagues.

This team has anew look. It will take time but Arsene will not change his principles.
This season is about getting a top 4 finish and a decent cup run.
Then, hopefully, we will buy a few top players as soon as the season ends.
Not mess about hoping for Cesc/Nasri to sign.
Hopefully, Arsene has learnt his lesson. If anyone wants to go...there's the door.
