I like Valencia attitude, he works very hard and is decent defensively... but his crossing is just woeful, and has been for years.
The amount of space he gets, and then ends up just kicking it against the first defender or passing backwards is borderline embarrassing.
Whereas the world best teams e.g. Real Madrid have LB and RB who will hurt you if given space.
Should we have splashed out on a RB?

To be fair to Valencia, he is having to carry the attacking burden largely on his own down the right hand side. We could do with a wide right attacker.

Watching the crosses that Robertson fella was putting in for Liverpool last week made me very envious. The end product of our full backs is laughably bad, but I think Jose seems content with them because they are good defensively
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep, i watched Mendy put in tasty balls for City and i was equally envious.
I don't even want to mention Real as their FBs - especially Marcelo- are better than some wingers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They're basically wingers... defending isn't rocket science, as long as you're quick and prepared to work hard you can do a job defensively.
But apparently you cannot teach a person to put a half decent cross in. I feel that lack of ability from out wide will cost us in tight games, and ultimately will cost us winning the league.
Teams are happy to leave Valencia in 10 yards of space, because he cannot do anything constructive.

No.
And lfb isn't a priority either.
What is a priority is avoiding too many injuries, and keeping this form.

We finished 6th last year, 24 points off top, but you don't think it should be a priority to improve arguably our weakest positions.
Ok.

Yeah, Aurier would have been a good signing. Although I think Valencia has been very good there.

Isn't Aurier a complete crank though? Not sure you want that in the dressing room.

To be completely honest I'm not really sure what 'crank' means. Other than the film I watch a lot of years ago in Russian in my Canabis years with a few Lithuanian's. Think it was called Adrenaline in Russian. Jason Statham. Film was probably 2hrs long but felt like ten minutes, crazy. Hilarious when stoned also.

Ah.
In the north if England we often use the word 'crank' rather than 'barmpot' when describing someone who exhibits somewhat erratic behaviour.
You're welcome

No idea what barmpot means also but yeah he's erratic. So was Evra and he turned out alright for you, Cantona as a better example.
