Did the Arsenal board bottle it?

I think it's pretty obvious that a ruthless decision needed to be made at board level in the summer. Chelsea have been the most ruthless club in the land for 12 years. City, Utd n Liverpool not far behind in recent years. When a change at manager has needed to be made it's been done.

Arsenal obviously have a fondness for Wenger for all he's done for them but he's seriously well past his best. The board didn't want to make the tough decision that clearly needed to be made. Is that the kind of people you want running your club?

How Gary Neville can still defend Wenger is beyond me. He's still blaming the players but it's clear as bleeding day that there's no discipline, no instruction, no passion and no desire being pumped into those players.

Before he managed Valencia, Neville definitely used to criticise Wenger, just like everyone else. I think after furrrking up that job, he just doesn't feel like he has a leg to stand on when it comes to criticising managers.

In all seriousness, no coach could have got any more out of that defensive line up today. None of them are premier league standard.

I could be argued that it is Mr Wengers fault that they were selected - or at the club in the first place - but replacing the best manager at getting the best team performance out of the worst kind of garbage players, will prove to be a long and treacherous path for AFC to follow.

I hope they do sack him, but only because i have a pathological hatred for all things gooner. And sacking him will render them impotent for about 5 years.

You're a colossal idiot.

They did bottle it. And They bottled it when they let Wenger literally take control of every aspect of the club. But They basically have no ambition past turning a big profit, they don't want to risk anything that might upset that. Any owner with a bit of foresight would have seen what many other saw a few seasons ago that Wenger was going past his best, and he isn't going to lead us to big trophies. they should have started lining up replacements after he won't the FA Cups. But Wenger has control over that, so it was never going to happen

Don't think they bottled it, I just suspect that there was a lack of forward planning on the boards part which is prevalent throughout the entire club which meant they were certain Wenger was and still is the right man for the job and therefore haven't yet bothered to see who would be the man to take over, so they had no option but to stick with him.

They're players are better than they are showing, but Wenger doesn't have a clue how to use them or how to structure or motivate his team which is why they are where they are.
