Leeds & Leicester City have made a bid to try and sign Sheffield Wednesday’s young, talented striker George Hirst.

Presumably he'd go into the 23's?

I hope you guys don't mind me jumping in on this. Rumours at the Wednesday end over the last month or so that we turned down a million pounds from Leicester. George has a big future as he is scoring goals for fun for the youth team and got a couple for England at a recent tournament. Wednesday fans are getting restless that he hasn't been near the first team especially in the league cup. A loan to a lower league side is likely but rumours persist that his dad (Wednesday legend David) wouldn't stand in his way were George to want to move on as he regrets his own decision not to move to Man Utd when he had the chance. I'd be surprised to see him move to Leeds to then go into the development squad but it's an interesting link

you have blocked his path though at wednesday with a load of journeymen strikers.

To be fair he is only 18 and a loan to a lower league side would give him the experience he needs. I mean he's unlikely to get in the Leicester/Leeds first team so would more than likely end up out on loan anyway. The problem we have is that his contract runs out next summer. He scored 40 goals last season. I suppose the old argument would be 'if you are good enough then you are old enough'

If he is half as good as his Dad he will be awesome!

I was lucky enough to watch his dad in his prime. Absolute phenomenal player. Such a shame that Steve Bould ruined his career. Anyway, things have gone quiet on the George Hirst front. I hope it stays that way
