As I said on the other thread - always a legend in my eyes.

Not interested in off-the-field rumours. Just go on with his job on the pitch on was more often than not. 7+ out of 10.

Leaves us very short in the creative midfield positions.

It's a sad day whenever any of our title-winning side leaves. They should all be thought of as legends by our fans because, unlike many others who aspire to that word, they have earned it. They are the ones who carried our hopes over the line as the eyes of the world watched and pundits queued up waiting to say "I told you so" and denounce the existence of fairy tales in the modern world. Drinkwater may have had an up and down time through his years here, but in his Up times we have won league titles.

The deal itself - as long as Silva is finalised - makes sense for us and is a good deal considering the disaffection. £35m is a good fee for Drinkwater, and I suspect he'll play more than Chelsea fans currently expect and fear. People still look down at our players somewhat unfairly, and Drinkwater's stats are actually quite good. Playing in a higher-possession team may well help him progress. Meanwhile Silva should hopefully provide some forward drive which our other centre midfield options don't.

But we will of course track Drinkwater's career from here and I wish him well. Thanks for all you achieved here, Danny.

I hope he gets better and an England shirt he needed one more challenge and like Dung said He will always be in "that" and we will be seeing them all on the pitch in nine years time and cheer them to the roof and i wonder in Claudio can get that bloke that sings a bit?

thorney - to be fair, we knew what Kante was worth at the time. But surely we couldn't have known when we signed him that a £20m release clause to a Champions League side was going to look like peanuts the next summer!
