Clyne & RB

I must have missed this when it was announced, didn't realise Clyne was out for so long and hadn't been selected in our CL squad:

Big miss for the team or a big opportunity for TAA/Gomez? Or both?

Clyne was a bit disappointing imo last season, solid in the main but wasn't spectacular in either the attacking or defensive third. I'd hoped the competition for places would spur him on.

Despite that the injury is unfortunate. Whilst Robertson is being acclimatised and we have Moreno playing, a bit of stability and experience at RB would have been good. Still, time for one of the youngsters to claim the shirt.

seems odd to me, hushed up drugs ban maybe? Did he miss the end of last season?

Always a possibility these days!

Played in a pre-season game and came off injured - not been seen since.

It is weird the said two weeks at Warford and now new year. If it's something personal I'm glad it's in house.

Football wise I don't rate Gomez at rb. TAA gets better with every game. Good. Milner can play there and Can has for Germany. Great opportunity for TAA.

Gomez was very good against Arsenal though robbing, wouldn't surprise me at all to see him start there against city too. I agree TAA is the future there and better right now though. And Gomez future is at centre back, but he's started the season very well at rb.

Gomez is decent at right back but if you're gonna be on the ball most if the time you'd want TAA on the pitch. Both of them played well last night for England U21s with Gomez captain. Abraham looks a really talent.

Think I just like Gomez as a footballer so happy to see on the pitch in any capacity. I do agree that TAA is the more natural RB though and certainly more of a threat going forward.

What little I've seen of Abraham I'd completely agree. Looks so confident for Swansea already. Interesting to see what Chelsea do with him because I'd imagine he'll want first team football sooner rather than later.

We'll be ok with TAA & Gomez.

Gomez still lacks match sharpness but he's definitely a CB and I hope Klopp integrates him there during the course of the season.

In that case we should sign him as he won't get a game for Chelsea being young and English.
