Some of us are lucky enough to love their jobs, to go into work each and every day with a smile on their face and just generally loving life.
For the rest of us, today is a day of joy because it's Friday!!!!
So why not add to that joy with a little bit of DUFC News!?!?
So, I hear you ask, what's going on at Tannadice this week?
Well the biggish news of course is that we have been drawn at home to Linfield in the next round of the Irn Bru cup, which will take place during the international break in October. I don't think it's been announced as the tv game, but I expect it will be, which might mean that it's moved to the Sunday (or possibly Saturday tea-time). United will continue with their policy of playing younger players in this game so it will be a big test against the Champions League team...
"Well this is a game I'd like to attend" I hear our obese readers say, and don't worry Bears, the Toryglen Rangers Supporters Club are looking to put on a bus for the game to get you there. Sadly it's not a bus I'm welcome on after they blocked me for retweeting about it. That's the thanks you get for drawing people's attention to them.
Elsewhere, current Dundee United favourite Scott McDonald has done an interview with Simon Ferry as part of his Opengoal interviews so if anyone is interested it would be worth a watch - Ferry is good value, despite his terrible clothes. It may be a bit "Celticy" for some though.
Back to the team though, and Ray McKinnon has admitted that Jamie Robson was a little unsettled after the reported interest from Southampton at the end of the transfer window, despite the fact that a move never came close to materialising. The Saints enquired about his availability and a potential loan move for the young left back, but the Terrors naturally knocked that back as it would have left us without a fit left back. It seems United weren't against them bidding for a full transfer (surprise, surprise) but no bid materialised. Hopefully Robson will be able to focus on his game again ahead of the visit of Dumbarton tomorrow.
In other news, United Community Trust is setting up an amputee team so if you're lacking an arm or a leg get involved.
And that's it for this week. Enjoy your weekend when it comes folks. My input on the site next week will be limited due to annual leave so brace yourself for a week without much DUFC News.

Rasmussen never really got a chance did he?
Just had a quick google and he hasn't done badly back in Denmark according to Wiki. Currently at AGF and scores a goal every other game.

I'm sorry, WITTT??

Indeed.
It didn't indicate which end the Rangers fans will be sitting in. I have to assume they'd back the Scottish club since they don't like Scottish supporters backing teams from other countries?

Curly
the only way I'd say it wasn't sad is if the same supporters had tried to attend all their matches when they've played in this competition, including last season.
I can't check to see if that's the case given that they've now blocked me on twitter.

I am indeed, for my sins.
Dumbarton at home. It's the kind of game that you live for.
