Yet another game that Felix has had very little to do. Or has he done more than we give him credit for.
In the six league games to date he has had only six saves to make. great defending by the team then. But, he has made an incredible 204 passes so far, it's like having a sweeper behind the back four to help alleviate any pressure on the players.
I noticed today that he was always moving around the edge of the area and outside it looking to help the defense restart play, and most of his passes were crisp first time balls on the floor to the defenders and the midfield. This gives the players time to regroup and find space, which at times last year was not possible with Green and Monks tactics.
Great result today, long may we continue with this style of play. The rest of the league will be taking note and will be terrified of our attacking options, and we have still more players in the squad who are yet to play a part.
Get your bets on quickly guys, the odds are shortening on chances of promotion.

Gone on about this before but great keepers inspire defences. An average defence can be improved by having confidence in the keeper.
It's no coincidence that Liverpool won the league in the late 70's and early 80's with Ray Clemence in goal.

Don't forget Grobs playing as a sweeper keeper.

... getting way ahead of ourselves here.
He's in the team because he's a sweeper keeper. TC wants to build from the back.
This has nothing to do with whether he inspires confidence in the defence. We have good defenders who've had little to do, partly because we control the ball way better than last season... something felix contributes to.
Whether he inspires confidence in the defence we'll find out when we have some defending to do. I'm not knocking him, but he's shown nothing yet to Demonstrate whether his 'traditional' goalkeeping skills are up to it or not.
