Our next game is a home tie to bottom of Bundesliga - FC Köln.

Despite not wanting to be in the Europa league, it still represents a realistic avenue for us to get back into the Champion's league next season. FC Köln have played and lost all three games in the Bundesliga so far this season. Therefore, in the knowledge that FC Köln are in poor form and we are at home (plus the next premier league game is the tough away tie to Chelsea), can we afford to take this game lightly by playing a weakened team, possibly starting the likes of Giroud and blooding the likes of Reiss Nelson?

I think Wenger will go for (fitness willing) something like:

Personally I would love to see Nelson in the attacking role, maybe Debuchy at right back and Iwobi instead of Wilshere if Jack isn't fit enough.
Also possible we could go to a back 4 I guess.

I would like us to treat this game like a league cup game against a strong championship team - a strong core to the side with a few younger players stepping in and strength on the bench if needed.

Playing weakened teams in the first group game is a recipe for disaster. You have o think that win or lose against Chelsea you have over 30 games to make it up. lose to Köln and you only have 5 and they are tougher matches. On top of that you are away to Chelsea not been a happy place for you lot in recent years, take it on the chin and keep more English teams in the champions league.
