Portsmouth v Newcastle
A top match up here, however it was all rather disappointing, neither team taking control and a lot of loose passages of play, both teams giving the ball away too easily, considering the quality on the pitch, maybe nerves played a part. Chances came and went with both teams defending well, in particular Portsmouths back 3 they were solid, not allowing Newcastles potent attack much in way of clear cut chances.
Second half became more open but still defneces on top this was until in the 59th minute Kevin de Bruyne opened Newcastle up with a sublime through ball, seeing Werner in a bit of space he threaded it through the Cbs. Werner timed his run perfectly, gathered the ball at his feet and slotted past an on rushing Lloris. Newcastle put on subs but just couldn't get passed the Portsmouth defence who were resolute throughout
Portsmouth 1 - 0 Newcastle
Werner (KDB, 59)
MOTM - Javi Martinez - Marshalled his defence very well
Arsenal 2 - 0 Stoke
Aubameyang(Berardi, 17)
Marquinhos(Hamsik, 48)
MOTM - Marquinhos
Birmingham v Everton
A very open game game with both teams setting up fairly attacking with 2 up top, Mbappe opened the scoring with a fine solo effort on 9 minutes getting passed Maguire quite easily, The game was end to end with chances going to both teams and it was Welbeck on 19 minuets with the equaliser after gopod work by Draxler down the left, Welbeck was left with a tap in, the game continued in the same fashion but no more goals in the first half, but some great chances both may regret at the end.
Second started as brightly as the first with both teams on the attack, Vertonghen gave away a silly free kick which allowed Alonso to step up and fire it over the wall into the postage stamp leaving the keeper stranded. Neither team took control and this allowed Kolasinac to equalise again for Everton a storming run down the left, a quick pass to Draxler, he drove inside and with just one touch after the retrun pass he belted it into the top corner, the game ended and all was fair with two fantastic gfoals from both left wingbacks
Birmingham 2 - 2 Everton
Mbappe(9), Alonso(FK,52)
Welbeck(Draxler,19), Kolasinac(Draxler,66)
MOTM - Draxler
Hull City v Aston Villa
A game in which Hull really pushed Villa but just couldn't find the back of the net, In Zlatan they have a top striker but they lack the quality to get him into positons where he will becomea threat, it is still a work in pregress, but still some way off the top teams. Villa on the other hand were decent and no more today but had the quality to conjur up some moments of magic, this came from Fabregas, who floated in a very clever free kick which Cavani reacted to first and he stroked home the only goal of the game
Hull 0 - 1 Aston Villa
Cavani(Fabregas,43)
MOTM - Fabregas
Leicester v Liverpool
Another top clash today with two of the well one of the league favourites in action, The game itself was a feisty affair with 8 yellows and a red, plenty of action and things to talk about.
Liverpool playing it cagey and passing about, Leicester chasing shadows at some points, however Liverpool couldn't find that final pass to get it ino the front two. Leicester finally got some time on the ball and they definitely made it count after Hazard swung in a left footed cross for Costa to bang home on 25 minutes. The next ten was pretty much all Leicester vut Liverpool defended in numbers.to stop them doubling there lead, tackles flying in, cards being shown but the real moment of controversy came in 38 minutes, Belotti played in by Dybala, he looked to be in on goal as Musacchio came flying in, he slid right past the striker, not much contact but he went down all the same, Fabinho took the penalty but was a poor effort or a good save by Neuer, same result he missed leaving it 1-0 at half time.
Second half Liverpool had to come out, but facing 10 men is sometimes just as hard and they were finding it tough after Renegade reshuffled his team, they defended well and still Liverpool couldn't get through, Ramos and co were outstanding. But as the game went on Leicester became weary, as the extra man and fresh legs began to take its toll on them, with Savic taking control he passed out to Dybala, made a run into space, and blasted home the return ball, Leicester looked shattered, Liverpool ecstatic, a draw, maybe fair, the red card? Well no and it changed the game....
Leicester 1 - 1 Liverpool
Costa(Hazard,25)
Savic(Dybala,83)
MOTM - Sergio Ramos
Red - Musacchio

Chelsea vs Wolves
A good game today, Wolves giving it a very good go, defending well in the early stages and springing forward well. Chelsea though looked on top of their game though as time went on and started to dominate possession, Busquets making things tick. They had way too much for Wolves in the forward areas, especially out wide where Neymar vs Cancelo and Callejon vs Digne at times was a bit of a mismatch, especially down the left where Sandro's constant overlapping runs really opened up space, Silva not quite as quick to cover as he was to get forward. At the other end of the field Silva did cause problems, playing in between the lines he found the space to create some chances for Higuain, although the striker didn't have his finishing boots on today. Chelsea's greater quality had them in the lead and Wolves threw on the attackers, this really opened the game up which ended up suiting Chelsea more than Wolves, Neymar, Griezmann and Callejon against Cancelo Cahill and Digne later on was almost painful to watch.
Chelsea 3-1 Wolves
Aguero(Neymar) 42, Griezmann(Neymar) 76, G.Jesus(Pogba) 84; Immobile(D.Silva) 74
MOTM: Neymar
