So the Captaincy. If not Keogh then who?

Lack of fight, grit, bottle call it what you will but our team are too easy to turn over. A bit of adversity and they crumble. It's been like this since we lost the play-off final.
They've shown plenty of times that they can put a winning streak together but equally the abysmal collapse is only a defeat away.

A Captaincy change is called for. Keogh has lost the job before and it didn't affect his game. But I think we need someone harder with the armband. Someone with grit and determination in the face of adversity.
Shaun Barker was the last proper Skipper we had and how we could do with him now.

Then you start looking for an alternative in this squad.

Carson? I'm not a fan of keepers as Captains because they are limited on their movement.

Davies? Not seen enough to make a judgement and he doesn't seem that mouthy.

Who?

Thorne has been through the mill due to his injuries but has shown great mental toughness to get through it so we know he has grit and determination. Could he make a good Captain?

Thoughts please.

Welcome back, Spart.
How was the Grand Tour ?

Keogh's garbage. He wasn't just at fault for the penalty at the weekend and it's not his first game-costing performance of the new season either.

You people are idiots. Yes the midfield could be better but every time, EVERY time, that the defence is exposed Keogh goes to hell in a handcart and makes huge errors. The stupidity of those weak minded happy clappers who will only accept his culpability or liability when he concedes a penalty (and some apparently so blind as to even still then not see!) is what's holding this club back.

The grand tour continues tomorrow Ang.

Porto to Santiago, 160 miles in 9 days, was a hard walk. On the way I found Vidal's house of beer in Vigo and finished the last night's gin and tonic at the Derby cafe in Santiago. By the sound of it so did our players before the Bristol game.

If Ledley joins I have a feeling he'll be penciled in for the Captain role.

Even though he's only here 'til January ?

Just count how many managers Keogh has had at Derby. The count how many of those managers have made him captain.

And then count how many have succeeded

Still not answered my question

Permanant managers Griff, who employed Keogh as Captain after he was Captain of a relegated Coventry team, there is

Clough - Failed
McLaren - Failed
Pearson - Failed

I think Clement, who also failed, chose Baird.

I honestly hope Rowett succeeds and we should give him the time to rebuild the team, including replacing the captain because in the 5 years Keogh has been Captain weve gone nowhere.
