Our attack

We seemed to miss both Costa and Hazard on the weekend, both in recent years have been match winners in the big games. Whilst Pedro, Willian and Morata all have talent, they don't have the same ability to open tight games up as reliably as Costa or Hazard.

I guess it's a pretty obvious point to make - we were bound to miss the two players who have brought us success over the past few seasons. However, I do wish our front three with Willian in particular; would take a bit more responsibility in grabbing the game by the scruff of the neck.

Willian is a fantastic player, but he reminds me a little of how Hazard used to play prior to Mourinho's second stint. Hazard would often play nice football and look sharp, but played a little within himself. It seems a little harsh, but Willian seems a lot of the time to wait for things to happen, rather than take a gamble. Pedro is a little better in that regard, but at times needs to calculate his judgements a little better.

Morata I think will take a little time to adjust to the league. He has showed some glimpses so far, but he does struggle with the physicality. But he will have to forge a different role in attack to Costa - as I doubt we will be seeing the same kind of tenacity.

Hopefully Hazard can make match fitness soon, as he does make our games frankly a lot more enjoyable, and does seem to get the best out of our attacking players. He didn't have much time when he came on, but we did look a lot more fluid and composed going forward.

It might mean this season we might be even more reliant on Hazard in attack. We have done well so far, but during these tight games, Hazard Costa's were integral. Hopefully, we get to see a good attacking relationship between Morata and Hazard, but I guess we will have to wait and see.

A pretty fair appraisal of things!

Still don't want Costa back at any price though!

doesn't matter whether we love Costa or not, fact is; we need him.

Morata's tenacity is perfectly adequate, on the back foot without Hazard in the side.
Pleased with Morata's contribution thus far, grew into the game second half against Arsenal.

Well OneNation both Costa and Conte are stubborn men so sadly we won't ever see him play in Chelsea colours again!
