Posted an article on 606 before the England and India Test series matching up each player, head to head.
Didn't get much right.

But my comparison of Ball v Laxman provoked quite a lot of angry criticism:
Bell v Laxman. Bell is starting to make good on his obvious but latent talent and is a good bet to top score for England this year for the first time. Laxman is a legend, but has never scored a ton in England, and never really looked that motivated. Laxman is the man for the big occasion that seems to overwhelm Bell. Anywhere other than England, I'd pick Laxman.
Verdict: Bell.

Bell vs Laxman -> Verdict Bell
I am still laughing hard at how deluded English fans can be
But Bell scored a lot more heavily than VVS whose technique didn't adapt well to the challenge of playing in England. Excellent player though he is. But as I said at the time, this isn't politics or religion. we do actually find out.
So hypocrite, etc. Quite a few posters got it pretty wrong.
I told you so.

No, that was what I like to call self deprecation.

Surprised you got Cook and Prior wrong.

Dhoni and Gambhir came with big reputations.
This prediction came before the India tour to West Indies, where Dhoni looked tired and out of form.

My predictions were all right?
Not on this thread of course but another one that I'm unable to find

the only prediction you got wrong big time was trott vs dravid.... But also when you made this prediction trott was averaging 65+ and was on form of his life and dravid was going through his rather extended poor form.....

Yes, good point Viru.Even so, Trott only had three proper innings, and one of those was pretty valuable, in the first innings at Lord's. Though Dravid was remarkable.
I ploughed through that thread ginger, and you were on the button quite a bit.
Though, the person who was closest was, I think, a Pakistan fan who was trying to rubbish India's chances.

I was on the button?
You sure, Mildred?

Nearer than Aggers...
On MBs, everyone is right eventually, even if only briefly. Last year's requiems for Alastair Cook's career last, could look pretty farsighted once his appetite begins to diminish.
Main thing I notice is how much KPs reputation has been re established. He had the better of his match up with Tendulkar. Many wanted him gone before this series. Not me of course.

KP's reputation was restored a little after his ashed double ton.
It is now restored to 2006 repo after this summer.

Though a slightly different reputation, after his valuable battling effort at Lord's. Maybe the 'I'm Kevin Pietersen and this is how I play' period is over.
