Also people can't go on about how he use to play in a poor league then because the top leagues were in S.America in those days!
==========================

No, they were not.

And 30% of his games were not recorded. Wiki has his total as 656 (competitive) and 1120 (including freindlies)

And thats suppose be 30%

So you expect him to have played 1900+ games?

What the hell did he do? Play 3 games a day?

Sorry that math is completely nd utterly wrong. If 30% is his actual number then he would have played over 3300.

Thats just utter bolllox.

I dont believe for one minute ferguson believes rooney is a better player than Pele was.
Rooney is without doubt a very good player.
But Im afraid thats as far as it goes.
Pele and Maradona were the two most outstandingly gifted footballers ever to play the game in the last 50 years.
They played on a completely different level to any other player during their peak.
For anyone to even contemplate comparing Rooney to either of these two, is quite frankly ridiculous.

In Pele's time the Brazilian league is just as good as European league football. His Santos is considered one of the best club side ever. In 1962 they beat the European champion Benfica whose ranks include Eusebio 5-2 in Benfica's home ground. Pele scored 4 goals in that match.

Pele's Santos and Eusebio's Benfica (the strongest side in Europe at that time) played each other quite a few times and as far as I know the best result Benfica got was a draw. That shows how strong Santos was in that period so please don't come up with this Pele never proves himself in Europe nonsense.

One game proves nothing sunshine, he scored most of his goals vs farmers and carpenters. Bare that in mind.

How's about the 1963 World Club championship matches with Ac Milan in which Pele scored 4 goals over two legs to help Santos win the title for the second time?

I would still suggest he hid in brazil and never proved himself on a regular basis in a top league.

But Brazillian league back then was no.1!??! Back then players stayed in their country of birth, and Brazil were easily no.1 nation at the time.

At only 17 he scored 2 goals in World Cup final. Surley that itself is a feat that should be held of high regard. No one has ever done that!
