8.28am the hoose is empty, weans aff tae school, wife aff tae school , texted brother "mon up for the game" response "Get the carryoot in"
8.30am just finished my first Margarita cats battering shooite oot each other, dugs sunbathing, the cats obviously feeling anxious about a result against Slovakia, the dugs obviously Mexican fans.
Starting to feel nervous myself, I know I shouldn't do it and get my hopes built up, we have all been here before, but feck how long can these continuing boots in the baws go on for?
Mon Scotland
Aff to get the carry oot, Total Wine here I come.

Was at Hampden last night, great finish.
Strachan got the subs right?? Anya was a good move, but not taking Phillips off was staggering.

If we had converted every chance we had last night and won 6-0, would folk still be talking about the performance?

He's only allowed 3 subs though.
Although I agree that I thought Phillips was our poor st player on the night.

You'd think folk had never watched Scotland before.
Delusions of grandeur. We were missing two key players in cm. We were playing a top 20 team in the world. We could've scored 4 or 5.
The subs that came on made a positive impact. Brought the right players on. Doesn't matter who he took off in the end, they did the business.

I think everyone was expecting Phillips to come off rather than Forrest, who was doing okay.
Also Fletcher was the only person who was wanting the ball when the performance dropped in the 2nd half, don't know why he was taken off either.
Morrison just doesn't offer much to be honest so would have taken him off for Martin.
To be fair Slovakia are a good team, and Hamsik is a quality operator so they were bound to be able to keep the ball against us at times

KT didn't look comfortable at RB, its just a shame we have 2 very good LBs
Needs must, the other options are pretty bad

However I won't mix up a great result with a poor performance.
------------------------
We had 20 shots on goal!!! We hit the bar twice!! Their goalie had numerous saves with at least 2 falling into world class category.
I'm not sure what you expect from Scotland. They have players in better teams in better leagues than most of our squad.
They are 20 places above us in the rankings. At 10 men they put everyone behind the ball. We persevered, and if not for some bad luck we'd have scored 5 or 6.
We are a technically very average team, that isn't going to change with this bunch of players. We can always hope youngsters coming through are better but at the moment we have what we have. They worked hard and their desire got them over the line, we wanted it more than Slovakia, for me that is more pleasing than anything.
I won't come on here and lambast players who gave it everything and WON!
FFS some people are just never happy are they?

The Forrest sub is a mystery right enough.
Fletcher got injured so I kinda see why he came off.
I would have taken off Robertson for the same reason and moved KT to LB over when Anya came on though.
Roberson was superb though. KT struggled at RB compared to what we see at LB though.

To be fair Tierney has been outstanding for Scotland so far even at RB. I can forgive one average game where we still beat a very good side. He also did save a goal with his backtracking. Defensively he was sound enough just his touch let him down a few times getting forward, which is unlike him.
