Hudds TOWN 2-1 Man United

Half time 2-0 Mooy, Depoitre.
Full time 2-1 Rashford.

Welcome Old Traffordonians , It's been awhile since we've had the honour of hosting The Red Devils,
And, DERBY day mark II, (of Three !) For TOWN ?
Being the ONLY YORKSHIRE SIDE in the PREMIER league, No 'Massive'.
No Lucifers Eleven, No 'Ull. You are our 'derby' along with Burnley & the Blue half of Manchester.
How are you feeling for the visit to the John Smiths ? nervous, Hardly.
If ever there was a David & Goliath encounter, This is it.
United 2nd on 20pts, TOWN 12 on 9pts.

Looking at the current form, Last 5 played, It's 3rd v Bottom !
United 11pts from 15, Hudders with the Shudderz 2 pts !
TOWN, just 1 goal in the last 5 games, managing 2 draws, & 3 defeats.
Up against a side who have had 9 clean sheets in 13 games this season.
United, last 5 = DWWWD. The last game holding the Mickey Mousers to a draw at Anfield.
While that same afternoon, Town looked & performed under par, losing 2-0 away at Swansea, who up to then had been beaten in every home game,
To compound the negative further ! de Gea didn't have a save to make through out the Euro tie away at Benfica.
I think it's fair to say, The TERRIERS are up against it .

basic stats,
Man You Knighted.
Scorers.
(Premier league only)
Lukaku = 7 More than all TOWN goals thus far.
Martial = 3
Pogba, Rashford, Felliani = 2
Mata, Bailly, Valencia, Mkhitaryan = 1

Pretty clean & tidy,
Just three players with 2 yellow cards,
Valencia, Young, & Felliani

TOWN .
Scorers.
Mounie = 2
Depoitre = 1
Mooy = 1
er...... apart from a Palace own goal, That's it !

TOWN players punished by One eyed refs !
Schindler 2
Mounie 2
Smith 2
Jorgensen 2
Billing 2
Palmer 2
Van la Parra 2
Shin pads essential for the reds come Saturday.

So Mourinho gets criticized for not going for the win at Anfield, (I agree on that One, You could & should have had 3 points from that one !) Then go and beat Benfica mid week on their own patch .
Wagner also is questioned by the local media & fans alike as to why there appears to be no other format, formation or 'plan B' as many call it these days. And they are right. Even at 2 darn... We never looked confident, or showed much idea in going forward with any intent to try and get back into the game. It didn't inspire confidence for me, When Wagner said he thought we played better in the 2nd half. Soz Mein Furher, I never saw the game from that view point.

If fit, I'd like to see Hefele given the chance to play against Lukaku, Jorgensen doesn't do it for me.
& I'd go with Depoitre v Jones regardless of whether Mounie is fit or not.
That would be if Wagner is sticking to his 1 up front, lone striker role philosophy. Although, What have we to lose ? Just for the hell of it, I'd go with a double strike partnership with both big men on together.
We'd just have to 'OPE the coaching staff have had them practicing getting that ball in quick & early......preferably onto the head of one of our Players I'd have Ince & Karchunga wide...giving the Van man a 'rest'
We've as much chance of seeing that eventuate as we have of winning the game. But.
I think all TOWN fans are really looking for a return to the spirit & tenacity that we showed early season, More running off the ball, man marking & pressing higher up the field.
Yeah yeah yeah... Man U will probably expose our weaknesses with ease,
& punish any mistakes.. But to play as we did last weekend would invite a slaughter. Lets battle, And see if by grunt, sweat & grit, we can hold out for a point. That would be a terrier-ific result for TOWN,
And along with that best 12th man in the league, The home crowd are the ones who can give the team the lift they need to pull this off.

The last time we managed a draw v Yer Nited, Was in Dec 1970 at Owd Trafford, When the scoreboard end was an open terrace, 1-1. 45,300.
Bobby Hoy for TOWN
I've waited a long time for this fixture to come back around
(The home game at Leeds Rd, TOWN 1-2 United 41,464)
We survived that season, 15th -of 22 !

Set 'em alight the Blue & White,
All we are saying...
Is give us a goal

Are you venturing under the Tunnel on Saturday Hydy...
Having a few with the Town fans before the game,

That would be mightily frustrating, being so close, But unable to get a ticket,
