Derby County 2 - 0 Sheffield Wednesday

1500
Pride Park
Saturday 21st October

After losing last week to the better team, according to those on the Dark Side of the ' 52 from City Greyskull, we need to win to halt our slide of scoring more goals than the opposition, yet still losing.

Saturday, 3.00pm kick-off, yummy, like it . Normal service resumed again. Sheffield Wednesday side who are level on points with Derby, giving us the chance to, leapfrog them and make our position in the league all the more convincing.

Whisper it quietly but our talismanic captain Richard Keogh is fit to play after a slight injury scare, 666.

Bradley Johnson is available for a return but do we need him? George Thornes, is he ready? Drop The Hudd or Ledley? Bring in Martin to play with Vydra? I dunno, I'll let you lot decide.

Igor is back home after an extended holiday at East Midlands Airport and will be sat in a car park somewhere. Other esteemed 606ers dotted round the world will following this game ( who writes this sh1t?)

We have a good record against the Wendies and we are slight favourites. We are by no means the finished article but nobody else is (Leeds anyone?). My biggest concern is that Forest will have this league wrapped up by March, just leaving us also-rans to battle for the minor placings.

Team news as and when:-

Same as last week, apart from BJ in for Winnall on the bench

I can see Martin in for Nugent...I can see Johnson in for Vydra and dropping Lawrence in behind Martin. Olsson for Forsyth is realistic.

Backo knows. Forsyth is shocking - been saying it for ages. He’d make a better centre half, in time...

Forsyth was poor yesterday but he isn't a poor player. I think with a lightweight wide player in Laurence Rowett wants a more solid defender behind him, although against Forest Forsyth was beaten very easily by Cummings on one occasion that could have lef to a goal. Olsson started the season very well but was poor against Birmingham. With a more attacking full back like Olsson or Lowe Rowett might be tempted to put Johnson on the left of the 4-2-3-1 where he was very effective for Norwich with the other Olsson. With the defence doing so well at the moment though there isn't much of a case to change it.

If it's a choice of an Olsson/Johnson combo or a Forsyth/Lawrence combo then we should stick as we are godammit.

Norwich have conceded 5 in the last 8 (now 9?) games.
0-0 beckons, although they have got a Cup game at Ars in the week

We can play leap frog again as we did with Forest and Wednesday.

Play Martin...Play BJ...Drop Nugent and Vydra. Play Lawrence behind Martin and this game is ours. You can thank me later.
