Yesterday it was obvious Lovren was at fault for 2 goals and Mignolet for 1.
People say it has to do with the team defense but you have those two guys making the same mistakes in most of the games.
This leads to searching for the equaliser and that leaves massive gaps at the back. Lovren dived in which resulted in the goal for them but a year ago he did the same at home against Palace which they scored from.
Add a mediocre goalkeeper to this who is average on crosses you have the recept for a disaster every game.
Klopp knows if he wants to play this style he needs defenders who can play man to man defending and who have the pace to recover.
Matip can do this as we saw yesterday when he was isolated with Kane he came as the winner.
Team\Individual errors

The one thing you can guarantee with Liverpool over the past 4 years is that someone will ALWAYS give away a dangerous FK, corner, or worse, a penalty inside the last 5 mins of a half.
Time and again it happens. I used to think it was Skrtel, now Lovren but Lucas did it, even Cara was guilty of but it appears to be a 'feature' of Liverpool's game. For some unknown reason the team seam to get complacent near the end of a half and you just know that mistake is coming.
That IS a team thing that I have mentioned on numerous occasions. I really dread the last couple of minutes of either half of any match because I now expect us to concede during those periods of every match.

Klopp has to take huge blame for getting rid of two players who could have played CB in Sakho and Lucas. Wanting to get rid of them after securing a CB is fair enough, but getting rid of them without a replacement was incredibly dumb.

Lucas was decent at centre back. I had loads more faith with him than Lovren. He had one poor game at the back but apart from that Lucas was a great squad player. Versatile and was always needed at the end of the season when injuries kicked in

I think in Lucas' case he wanted to leave anyhow as he only has a few years left and wants to play more. Understandable. In the case of Sakho I thought he was outstanding the season before last and better than any of our defenders since Carragher, however if there was a problem between the player and manager we have to accept the manager comes first, especially if the problem is disciplinary.
However again, our issues are not down to individuals, the individuals are being left in no man's land as the full backs push up and we don't play with a defensive midfielder. Since both aren't the quickest and turn like oil tankers this isn't wise at the moment. We have one option as we can't bring in a defender and that's the help the individuals. Give them some protection, play Can as a defensive midfielder, reign the full backs in from pushing so high up the pitch and rely on the attacking talent we have to create and score goals.
I've doubted Klopp on small issues in the past but if we don't change something and I don't mean individuals before January then I will have serious doubts in our ability to be set up with small tweaks or even big ones if need be depending on the situation.

Yes Can in DM is a must, but I dont agree with the individuals point. Signing good, smart defenders (or in the case of Lucas, keeping them) will reduce the amount of individual errors made which is a big source of our goals conceded.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes it could reduce a little but there will still be individual errors as they will be two on two against some of the best players in the world. The advantage is with the attackers in that case as one player has to go towards the attacker with the ball and one has to go with the runner, if the ball is played behind the defender it is easier for the attacker to get there especially considering attackers are usually quicker than defenders.
But let's not pretend that's the only issue. The other massive issue is the amount of times one of the two centre backs manage to do well, getting the block or header in, only for it to drop to an opposition player as we have very few players in a defensive position and no defensive midfielder in the gap between defence and midfield.

look everyone makes mistakes
1. taa is 18. i remember gerrard smashing a guy or two including a red in a merseyside derby. Should we have savaged him and said he can't play? nope. So if TAA makes a few errors so be it. He needs to play with freedom to learn.
2. Lovren error for second goal was absolutely terrible. It was a pure gamble when he didn't need to do it cos frankly kane has no pace really. for me it says he is panicked about someone taking in the ball as he is so isolated. He feels the need to clear it or be in a 1 on 1.... well thats desperate stuff but it says how he is feeling about his team mates too. There is no cover at all out there for a defender at LFC.
3. I agree about the fact that there are very few players doing the job in midfield of being the screen, winning the breaking ball or staying in good positions.
I think that relates to point 2 above.

Totally agree with this. Considering how much possession we have in games you would think that come the last 5 mins in the first half we would knock it round and protect the defence if we are struggling. But no, we aren't incredibly naive.
That's something for the manager to tackle.

In the style we play we need a cb who has the pace to defend in 1v1 situations and don't dive in like Lovren does and Skrtel did. VVD or Tah are those defenders.
