Ben Arfa or Townsend

Rumours of of bidding for both in January (irrelevant of Mahrez Mayhem).

Which would you want, if either?

*EDIT*

And as a further hypothetical question (based on Riyad’s form continuing to improve and return) if you had to choose:

Sell Mahrez in January with the guarantee of someone like the above two coming in

Sell Mahrez in Summer and only have Gray to develop/step up next year?

Yeah the crowd don't help at all. Leicester fans unfortunately have a bit of a reputation of turning on their own players at times - I can think of several examples of players being singled out over the years

Will never forget when Pearson joined the first time and went on the Monday night radio Leicester phone in (think it was Monday?) He sounded utterly bemused as a number of Leicester fans rang in asking him to drop Steve Howard - who went on to play a massive part in getting us out of league 1

BS - I haven't decided Gray is a hopeless case, but he needs to show some signs of developing better decision making. It's irritating because he's got lots of potential but little sign that is being fulfilled.

It may be he's not being given guidance in this regard - which would reflect badly on the coaching team - or he may not be listening, or worst still, not capable of listening to sound advice. I'm hopeful that Claude, who apparently has a record of bringing on young players, will be able to help him progress.

Good but worrying point there Nuneaton

The only thing that's worrying is that the club are holding back his development by neither playing him or allowing him to move on to develop

How is he supposed to improve his decision making when he gets a handful of sub appearances (mainly when we are losing) and a few stuttering league cup starts?

He has shown what he is capable of a number of times (remember the cup game against Derby last season?). Now people will say it's far too little but players at his age need regular game time to improve.

The best thing for him would be to leave Leicester and get his career back on track with a club that values him
And allows him to develop

Unfortunately, this is the problem with not having any truly competitive reserve leagues anymore. And the fa wonder why youngster go on loan, don’t develop and England remain garbage.

Mahrez has looked a lot better and more dangerous over the last couple of matches as he's been passing the ball more. I think Gray has to learn that same applies to him. It's why I want to see him on the right - he's forced into looking up and picking out a pass from there, as opposed to being on the left where he steps inside and shoots more often than not. Until he matures (and the most frustrating thing about him so far is that he shows little to no sign of doing so), my view is that the right wing would suit him better.

I would be tempted to move him on, partly because I'm sure he would press for a move to a bigger club very soon after he did make it and so I struggle to see him as a long term prospect. But there's no doubt that he has raw ability and I wouldn't want to let that go to see him flourish and shoot up in value somewhere else. All that is perhaps indicative that I look at him more as a commodity than a player though.

It’s interesting talking about players who may or may not make it, I seem to remember one fence sitting poster who was adamant that Knockaert would never make a decent Premier League player, I think Brighton fans might disagree.

Yep I seem to remember said fence sitter writing off Knockeart (which was a bit daft after he played 1 PL game) and also backing Pearson for omitting Albrighton for three quarters of our first season in the PL

Seem to remember him saying that it must be Albrightons fault because he's not applying himself in training

Dunge is a classic for writing players off after about 15 minutes of seeing them play. But loves the conservative safe playing sideways passing of Andy King. Weird.......

Why would you be interested in Townsend? Think you can do better than go for a player who regularly finds himself at relegation threatened sides.

Agree spurtle, possibly a Shakespeare link that one. Would expect Ben Arfa in January
