I've been on this case for 3 months or more wanting to know why the England selectors hadn't grabbed this young talent, it finally appears they are ready to jump.
It would of been a travesty if they didn't give Jack Reed a chance to at least be part of the England squad, even if it was just for the experience of training with the best of England for the future....personally I think he is good enough to selected into the top 17 right now with the progress he has shown at Brisbane Bronco's under the leadership of Darren Lockyer.
This is great news to hear, after all he was born in England.
Cheers..
Finally it appears Jack Reed is a pom

shameful. Migrated to Oz when he was 2, speaks with an Aussie accent. No interest in ever living or working in Britain.
How desperate are England?

Good move for Jack Reed and England. He can still play for Queensland just like Adrian Lam did when he played for PNG.

You would like to think so Big Fella but that loop hole may of been changed since then....I'm not sure.........
Gerald, moving out here to OZ when he was 2 is a lot better then some players attempt for different countries...besides his aunt's, uncles and grand parents all still live in England.
I'm all for anything to get test footy back to an even keel like it once was......

As i understood it now you have to declear yourself eligable for Australia before being eligable for SOO
Elephants gerald, the boy was born in England and wants to play for England seems a little harsh plus im not sure how you know his future plans when i doubt he even does at 23.
Imagine Mc saying, sorry mate you cant play for my england team with that accent (although nothing would supprise me with thast guy)

Hi folks, been computer free for a while...OK I know that Jack Reed playing for England it totally legal (ditto Chris Heighington, phew just got in before the Aussies nicked him eh!) but does it help the English game? NO.
Me, I would like to see a team representing England beating the Exiles next year. Sheesh, let's get to beat an Aus/NZ scratch team before we can even think about beating the national teams on a regular basis.
